We loved the house and the backyard.View is beautiful, you can see river from almost all the rooms in the house. We couldn't really swim in the river because the weather was not cooperating, it was cool and cloudy most of the week, but we waded and crossed to the other side one day, water was very pleasant, not too cold.Backyard is very peaceful and relaxing,we had cofee at the deck overlooking redwood trees, berry bushes and beautiful river every morning. We used the firepit most nights, owners provided plenty of wood and fire starter. House is very comfortable, beds are great, kitchen is well equipped with lots of extras, like spices, condiments, etc.Location is great, close to ocean and great hiking. Don't miss Howland Hill Rd and Whaleshead beach and its forest trail.Too bad we couldn't stay longer. Definitely worth almost 8 hour drive, gorgeous area to visit.
This property has been in our family for over 35 years. Three generations have been privileged to spend family time together enjoying the beautiful Smith River and all the outdoor activities it has to offer.
The proximity to such a diverse terrain is incredible. Great hiking in the giant redwoods. Rafting and Kayaking from Jedediah Smith National Park to your front yard is priceless. Crabing and Claming on the beaches of Northern California and Southern Oregon are at your fingertips. Nature abounds.
