My husband and I drove through this valley on our honeymoon , many years ago ,and found it so beautiful. Over the years we have kept returning to this area. We think it is a dream come true that we found this villa for sale in 2006!
In October, 2010, one of our renters told us that was their favorite month to visit Paradise Valley! The fall colors were spectacular and they didn't have to deal with crowds of people. They loved sitting on the back deck and enjoying the view of the valley.
We had a great time at the villa. The kitchen is really nice! It is great to know about this wonderful villa in beautiful country. We hope to return in the future!
This unit is spotless, comfortable and has everything you need to have the best vacation in a fabulous setting. The time spent at Chico Hot Springs was a new experience I would love to repeat on a daily basis. Hiking in the area is wonderful, beautiful area, not too rugged and not crowded. Yellowstone is so close and the river is beautiful as well. Love being surrounded by beautiful views and nature. This home is well equipped with dishes, cookware, bedding and modern appliances. A true Vacation!
the place was wonderful stocked very well. lots of little extras avail if we had needed them. I will definetly reserve it again. We spent two nights a chico and the location to the cabin was great. thanks for such a wonderful time.
Great place. Nice quiet location with a short drive to the Yellowstone North entrance. Very close to Chico Hot Springs which was great, especially for the kids. Garage of the house was set up as an extra room. This was great for our 3 year old who decided to set up her toys to play with in there. Very nice having a pack and play already there to use- one less thing for us to pack. Large dining room had plenty of seating for all of us for dinner and late night monopoly. Overall a very nice place!
The owner is incredibly helpful. Her directions were perfect. The house was clean and looked just like the photos. The only surprise was that both bedrooms were upstairs. I felt as if I were at home. I like to cook and the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and pots and pans.
The drive to Emigrant, MT took us longer than expected and we were so relieved to pull up to the condo! We unlocked the front door and were thrilled at all the space. The condo itself is immaculate and it was the little things that made our stay even better. For one, the Mohatt's left over some space in their kitchen cabinets for us to store our purchases. The Elvis poster on the closet door made us smile, and a bunch of history buffs were absolutely transfixed by the "Hunting Party" picture and history in the man cave (a.k.a. garage). It was wonderful that the Mohatt's allowed us to borrow their towels and take them to Chico Hot Springs where we spent some great family time.
The girls loved having a bedroom all to themselves, and took over the bathroom on the lower level. They loved walking to the "Wildflour Bakery" down the street to grab coffee and Chai tea in the morning, and the feeling of safety that came with it.
Our youngest bunked in our walk-in closet on an inflatable mattress.
Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable and we loved the bathroom. Soaking in the large tub after a full day of hiking and/or rafting made for pain-free sleeping. I loved sitting on the master bedroom balcony at night with a glass of wine and in the morning with my coffee. At night during our stay we had great views of the Super Moon and in the morning, Emigrant Mountain was there to greet us.
The kitchen was well stocked and easy to navigate and we enjoyed some great slow-paced family dinners and breakfasts together in that space. The kids loved sitting on the stools and chatting while we made dinner.
We had an amazing week at the condo. It's well kept in a beautiful place. Emigrant is tiny, but we had the bakery that also serves pizza and BBQ and a General Store across the highway. The Yellowstone River is in walking distance and Emigrant participates in recycling. Gardiner, MT, the Gateway to YNP was a beautiful and short 30 mile drive away.
On our way home, I had a great chat with Bernie! Sometimes you never know the people who own the place you stay, but Bernie feels like part of our family.
I would highly recommend this great little town and amazing condo to anyone wanting to visit YNP and stay away from the chaos and traffic that other areas around YNP are famous for!
We were looking for a nice place to stay close to the North Entrance of Yellowstone and we found it! We were impressed with the quiet and pleasant atmosphere in Emigrant. Bernie's villa was perfect for our family of five (3 kids ages 20-17-13). There was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked and all the cookware I needed was available as we had our evening meals in the villa. We enjoyed watching a couple of the movies that were available, too. We even saw some deer in the area behind the villa. I would recommend to any family who has plans to go to Yellowstone. We would stay here again if we went back to Yellowstone.
The fitness center listed above is located in Livingston, Montana. This is about 20 minutes from the villa.
