AWESOME FORREST ACERAGE, COZY CABIN, SPACE FOR TENTS,UNITS,BOAT TRAILERS

Lake Cowichan Cabin Rental Photos and Description

TWO acres of incredible scenery with forest and flat land for parking

The entire Two Acres has a view of the lake and mountains and clear view of the Recreational Lake Front and wharf where everyone gathers - which makes things safer and easier to touch base with people.

Lakefront property is pristine and clear, clean water. There are no large stones or deep spots on the lake edge all the way along the property 165 feet - it does not have a steep slope but gradual with sand and gravel.

This Bavarian style cabin is unique as it has a balcony that looks out, to the lake and gets morning sunshine starting at 8:30 a.m. The cabin has a 24' TV that swings from the bedroom area to the resting area to view as you wish or have children sit on the settee to watch TV instead of the bedroom.

-Small and large groups enjoy the privacy and natural setting...along the beachfront of 165 feet, tents can be put up for privacy or a comfortable distance from the Fire-Pit area - The two acres surround the cabin and can be used for TENTS or VEHICLE parking -

Hedges front the beach area and give privacy and shade when the sun is high. The beach area is a gentle slope into the water .. with sand and gravel. The wharf is large enough to lay down mats for laying on or put deck chairs on and moor boats - a row of Logs have been put out into the lake 175 feet for swimmers safety.

Outside covered kitchen is unique as it is only a few feet from water edge allowing families to watch children.

Outside covered area with firepit and bar has a 12 foot wide, padded bench seat that is used for laying, reading or relaxing during the day and is magical listening to the waves lapping on the shore. From the covered firepit area you can hear the small waterfall from the creek only 15 feet away and as it is a Salmon Enhancement creek with small fry that grow daily -

under the bridge.

Kitchen has three sinks, clean drinking water with a britta filter and kitchen outfitted with microwave and all cooking needs.

This is a rustic area and has natural habitat to be enjoyed at every turn with a large Fern walk area if someone wants more privacy,

The NEW wharf is large enough to put deck chairs on it and watch the sunset or sunrise.

Keywords: Wharf, pristine lake, Park like setting, covered bbq area with full kitchen facilities outside with seating and bar, 8 bar stools - fireplace with some wood supplied, use of two acres alongside creek going through property, paved road to property,

Lakefront was always my dream and this property was enhanced with the creek that winds through the property and makes it even more magical.

The property is parklike with hedges on the water edge for privacy. This is property that is so private everyone that arrives comments on how unique it is. There is a Fern Walk with ponds on the top lot that people love to sit in and read.. many birds, squirls, owls, otters and mink wander through the area giving it a wilderness feel.

RUSTIC LOCAL VACATION!

  • 5 of 5
Cowichan Lake is a boaters and a get away from everything location. Have a power boat and ski's or a canoe? Then this lake must be at the top of your list on Vancouver Island! What better way to enjoy this natural wonder than to stay at this site! Noni, the owner, works hard at keeping this property safe, clean with all aminities required (except food of course!) to make your stay comfortable. We stayed in mid August 2013 for 3 days and the first day we had 10 guests! Lots of room for tents (had 5) and 4 guests stayed in the cabin which they enjoyed. Comfortable site, fantastic view, not overly rustic with a hot shower available and great friends, what a great holiday we had that is easily within reach from our home a few hours away! Thanks Noni for all you did! Phil & Rose.

Owner's Response: Without a doubt Phil and Rose and their family and friends gave my property a feeling of happy times and joy ! From the moment they landed the laughter could be heard throughout their visit - quiet times and story telling around the firepit gave a sense of peace in the Cowichan Valley. I hope they return someday again for more memories of fun !

RUSTIC

  • 3 of 5
We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and the dock but would not recommend for toddlers. Cabin is very small and the property doesn't have crawl friendly areas for a toddler. Although the owner was friendly and generous, we found privacy difficult as the owner was with us the majority of the time. At night we could even hear her tv. The outhouse was a bit of a bummer. I recommend for larger groups to make it worth your money. If you're looking for a quiet private getaway, head to Tofino.

Owner's Response: I am friendly, open and also conscious of guests privacy and was very sorry to hear that your experience wasn't what you wanted after such a short stay (less than 24 hours). Other guests toddlers and my own grandchildren, have all enjoyed many happy days at the lake crawling on the beach and running around the flat large grassy areas. The portable toilet was purchased and is used for guests only and is kept extremely clean. I have had no previous complaints about this property not being peaceful enough as it is one of the larger (2 acres) more private properties in the area with all the foliage and trees.

CHILLIN AT THE LAKE

  • 5 of 5
I stayed at shady acres for 4 days with a group of friends and 4 young children.A great place to relax and great for the kids.Everything we needed was onsite , so all we had to bring was food and drink. It is a rustic style setup, so great for tenting. Grocery store and liquor store is 10 mins away by car. Property was clean and the private dock was a great addition. Recommend it to anyone who is looking for a rustic getaway.

Owner's Response: Without a doubt what a wonderful group - the four children had so much fun and one day I created a question and answer game for them with a Nature tour on the top lot - so a Mother of one of the sons and two of her friends, we headed to the Fern Walk - on the top of my property - we talked and explained nature at it's finest and they got prizes for the game and loved it. - During their stay, everyone enjoyed the incredible weather and all were in the warm water at 25 degrees for hours. I invite this group back anytime and in any Season - thank you. NB

EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR....AND BETTER

  • 5 of 5
We went down island for a night getaway after having to put our dear old lab down of 13 years. We wanted a place where we could relax by the water. The owner was kind of enough to rent it out to us for one night.
Upon arriving we were greeted by the owner and shown around this gorgeous place right on the water. The cabin itself and the washroom and shower house were immaculate.
The owner, NB, :-) was fantastic and the only problem with our stay was that it was not NEARLY long enough.
We thank you for everything NB and we will be back!!

JULY 2012

  • 4 of 5
We had a lovely time at this cottage. It was just big enough for a family of four who likes to spend time outdoors. The outdoor kitchen was well-stocked with anything we needed to cook with - amazing. Just bring your own food. The fire pit was especially fun - we could roast marshmallows even in the rain! The beach was great for a 7 and 11 year old - lots of wading, looking for fish, and floating. The dock was a treat to have breakfast on, and jump off of into the clear water. We brought our boat, and there was lots of room to tie it up at the dock as well. The highlight for our youngest was the stream running through the property, with bullheads and young salmon. Endless fun. The friendly ducks were fun as well. The only down side was a smell in the cottage. But since we were outside most of the time, it wasn't a big deal. This place is a good spot to use as a base for exploring the area, and to spend some time swimming and relaxing. The owner is helpful and friendly.

Owner's Response: A wonderful family that truly appreciated the two acres of privacy and the lake lake in all it's beauty, which they explored.
There was a strange smell from the the new fridge, but it has since been rectified.
There is now a new bed set and new down duvets added for comfort. I am looking forward to the family returning as they said they would love to, they're delightful !
