We've stayed in a number of places on the Sonoma-Mendocino coast, but this home is, by far, the most comfortable of all.
The owners thought of everything their guests could possibly need. The kitchen was exceedingly well equipped, which is a rarity. Fresh herbs growing in the front yard. The ocean views: awesome. The hot tub is perfect. Far Niente is charmingly decorated- you'll fall in love with the lighthouse collection.
And, we couldn't get over how quiet it is- so many places on the coast can have a lot of noise from the trucks on Hwy 1, but not here. You can hear the waves, and at night, you can see a gajillion million stars.
This would be a great place for a large family get-together, with the layout providing plenty of space in the common areas, and plenty of privacy for each sleeping area. It is equally suitable for a romantic getaway. And, while there is so much to do outdoors in the area, there is a ton of "stuff" to keep you entertained should it rain- a large video and music library, etc.
There are many stores in the town of Gualala (including excellent grocery stores), just a "mile down the road".
The owners were very helpful, providing information on special events taking place during our stay. I would highly recommend this property. It is a very special place. We can't wait to go back.
