Absolutely Gorgeous House!

  • 5 of 5
My friends and I rented this house for a long weekend last month and had a blast. It is absolutely gorgeous! It was spotless when we arrived and exactly as advertised. We had a few cooks in the group, and they appreciated a well-stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable, and there were more than enough towels and linens for our group of 8.

However, the real beauty of this house is its location on the lake. Pictures do not do it justice. The weather was warm our first couple of days, so we enjoyed sitting on the deck. When it got colder we moved inside to the huge glassed in room.

Thanks Susan for renting your gorgeous home. We hope to return at some point!

Awesome Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5
Thank you Susan for sharing your wonderful island home! Our family of 7 adults and 2 teenagers enjoyed every aspect of this beautiful farmhouse, water front access, and lovely grounds. We have several great cooks and a chef in the family and the kitchen was totally equipped with everything we need for yummy meals. One of the favorite indoor spots for dining, games, and hanging out was the enclosed porch with amazing views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. There was plenty of room for all of us to sleep, on real beds, and the bathroom situation was more than adequate for our group. We loved the waterfront and use of the kayaks as well as all the other toys and the outdoor fire pit. Some of us are big time cyclists so we brought our own bicycles and it was so nice to have a secure place to store them when we were not riding (great riding on the islands). Thanks again for making such a wonderful home available for vacationing families!

Perfect lake house on Lake Champlain!

  • 5 of 5
Since moving away from Vermont in 2000 we have rented nearly every year a home in the Islands for one / two weeks each summer - Vermont and the Islands are special to us. This summer we rented your farmhouse and it was - by far - the best experience we have had renting.

The house had everything for a great family vacation - beach, kayaks, bikes, pool table, volleyball / badminton, ping pong, tether ball, air hockey etc. The location was close to Burlington so our local family members could visit often, it was very near to the Grand Isle / Cumberland Head ferry, the grill was excellent, fully stocked linens, dishes, (pretty much anything you would need) etc made the stay very enjoyable.

We had friends and family visit all week - at one point we had 10 people sleeping the house and there was plenty of room for all of us. We entertained friends throughout the week and it was a very comfortable place to enjoy the sunsets (porch and deck were fantastic).

The young children enjoyed the DVD player , puzzles and games...the teenagers were very happy with the high speed internet (fastest we have experienced in Vermont!.

This is a great lake house in a perfect location - possibly the best rental property in the Islands......We hope to rent again next summer.

Thanks Steve, Chris and family

Gorgeous location, right on the water!

We needed a destination for a multi-generational family gathering. Moreover, we wanted a place where our family in the Burlington area could join us for dinner and festivities. This home was the perfect fit and offered everything that we needed. We had plenty of room for 5 adults and 5 children overnight, and up to 20 dining in the beautiful enclosed porch, deck, and garden terrace. There is a lovely small black stone beach steps from the back deck down a small flight of stairs. Sea kayaks on the premises were perfect distractions for the kids and adults. Magnificent grill and fully equipped kitchen made meals easy.

Fortunately, we had only one rainy day, but the home has air hockey, pool table, ping pong, jigsaw puzzles, dvd player, and plenty of space to hide away with a book. Everything you could ask for on an indoor day.

Marvelous lakefront relaxation; spectacular views

  • 5 of 5
We - four adults, including two seniors - absolutely loved this amazing, old farmhouse (creaking floors and all)! Quiet and peaceful beyond description, we enjoyed every moment there, day and night, and slept well. The morning calm (cool with no insects about), itself, worthy of poetic verse.

Just as advertised: everything needed was included, save groceries for our planned meals. I wish our stay could have been longer. Without reservation, I would recommend staying here to friends or relatives.

Great day trip: ferry boat to Plattsburgh, NY; drive north to Montreal for lunch (we had the best ever Vietnamese at Dho [or Pho] Cali, located between the Chinatown Gates on Blvd Saint-Laurent) and afterward drove to Mt. Royal overlooking the city before the return drive via Grand Isle isles (from the north). Nice! One suggestion: try to get out of Montreal (over the big green bridge) before rush hour.

Alternative day trip: south from Plattsburgh to visit Fort Ticonderoga and perhaps return by crossing Lake Champlain Bridge at Crown Point, or return to Plattsburgh for Grand Isle ferry.

Again, highly recommended!

EXACTLY as advertised!

We stayed at the house a few days for our New Year's celebration. The house was exactly as described and displayed in pictures. I think it was even better in person! Beautiful views of the Lake. It was a really cozy, relaxing, and inviting home, with all the necessities, and everything worked! Fully stocked with toilet paper, towels, appliances, dishes, even salt for the snow. No detail was left out, and the owners were very informative and helpful. The game room with the air hockey and ping pong table was a bonus, keeping the kids (and adults) occupied. Wonderful home!!!
