GORGEOUS LOCATION, RIGHT ON THE WATER!

  • 5 of 5
We needed a destination for a multi-generational family gathering. Moreover, we wanted a place where our family in the Burlington area could join us for dinner and festivities. This home was the perfect fit and offered everything that we needed. We had plenty of room for 5 adults and 5 children overnight, and up to 20 dining in the beautiful enclosed porch, deck, and garden terrace. There is a lovely small black stone beach steps from the back deck down a small flight of stairs. Sea kayaks on the premises were perfect distractions for the kids and adults. Magnificent grill and fully equipped kitchen made meals easy.

Fortunately, we had only one rainy day, but the home has air hockey, pool table, ping pong, jigsaw puzzles, dvd player, and plenty of space to hide away with a book. Everything you could ask for on an indoor day.

MARVELOUS LAKEFRONT RELAXATION; SPECTACULAR VIEWS

  • 5 of 5
We - four adults, including two seniors - absolutely loved this amazing, old farmhouse (creaking floors and all)! Quiet and peaceful beyond description, we enjoyed every moment there, day and night, and slept well. The morning calm (cool with no insects about), itself, worthy of poetic verse.

Just as advertised: everything needed was included, save groceries for our planned meals. I wish our stay could have been longer. Without reservation, I would recommend staying here to friends or relatives.

Great day trip: ferry boat to Plattsburgh, NY; drive north to Montreal for lunch (we had the best ever Vietnamese at Dho [or Pho] Cali, located between the Chinatown Gates on Blvd Saint-Laurent) and afterward drove to Mt. Royal overlooking the city before the return drive via Grand Isle isles (from the north). Nice! One suggestion: try to get out of Montreal (over the big green bridge) before rush hour.

Alternative day trip: south from Plattsburgh to visit Fort Ticonderoga and perhaps return by crossing Lake Champlain Bridge at Crown Point, or return to Plattsburgh for Grand Isle ferry.

Again, highly recommended!

EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED!

We stayed at the house a few days for our New Year's celebration. The house was exactly as described and displayed in pictures. I think it was even better in person! Beautiful views of the Lake. It was a really cozy, relaxing, and inviting home, with all the necessities, and everything worked! Fully stocked with toilet paper, towels, appliances, dishes, even salt for the snow. No detail was left out, and the owners were very informative and helpful. The game room with the air hockey and ping pong table was a bonus, keeping the kids (and adults) occupied. Wonderful home!!!

JUST WONDERFUL!

  • 5 of 5
My mother, brother and his family of twenty-somethings and my family of young ones decided to rent this home instead of paying more for hotels for a family wedding. We could not have been happier!

There were 11 of us ranging from age 3.5 to 86. We had plenty of room for relaxation as well as sleeping space to spare. My crew of five were housed on the entire third floor, which consisted of a day bed in one room, king sized bed in a separate room, a shower room and the bathroom with a claw-foot tub. The rest had plenty of room throughout the four bedrooms on the second floor. The three full baths made it easy for everyone to get ready when needed.

The house was move-in ready when we arrived. We all enjoyed dinner together at the table on the enclosed porch overlooking the lake, but at time also enjoyed eating at the table in the dining area as everyone came and went. Susan had plenty of "toys" to entertain everyone, and our favorites were the air hocky/ping pong table as well as just going down to the beach and looking at sea glass and rocks.

If the weather had been warmer we would have enjoyed the kayaks and the floating dock.

It was easy access to visit our hosting cousins in Burlington as well as about an hour to Charlotte. We took the ferry to NY which was right up the road, and visited Hackette's Apple Orchard for fresh apple cider and to buy an Apple Crisp. St. Joseph church was north on Hwy 2 (we went the wrong way first go round) and even had a 10 a.m. service so we didn't have to get up early.

It was an awesome place to be, and we would have loved to just keep it and call it home.

Thank you, Susan, for sharing your lovely home with us. We hope to be back!

JUST WONDERFUL!

  • 5 of 5
My mother, brother and his family and my family met here for a mini reunion while attending a family wedding in Charlotte. (My cousin's family were in Burlington). There were 11 of us aging from 3.5 years to 86 years, and we could not have been happier!

The home was beautiful, we all had plenty of room for relaxation! Everyone had a bed to sleep in with room to spare.

Two dining areas accomodated all of us (actually the table overlooking the lake served us all for one meal). The owners had plent of 'toys' for us to enjoy like a full air-hocky/ping pong table; and we just loved the setting and picking up sea glass (lake-glass?) and rocks on the shore. If had been warmer we could have considered the kayaks or swimming out to the dock.

It was very easy location to access. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. We had clear instructions as to what the owner requested upon departure and were happy to oblige.

It was an easy drive to my cousin's home in Burlington, as well as off to the wedding in Charlotte. We also took the ferry to NY right up the street, and attended St. Joseph church which was also an easy drive. We went to Hackette's Apple Orchard for some delicious cider and Apple Crisp.

Really, we would have loved to just move in and call it our own.

Thank you, Susan, for sharing your lovely house with us. What a gift and blessing. I highly reccomend this property.
