This beautiful waterfront home is your perfect family or intimate retreat. The home looks out to Hales Passage, Mt. Baker and The Sisters mountains. At the water’s edge you will be captivated by the sight of Bald Eagles perched in the tree and heron’s fishing off the beach.

The living room features comfortable seating, large screen TV, DVD and stereo system. You can select from a variety of books available for our guests to borrow during their stay and snuggle up for a good read by the warm and inviting fireplace. The kitchen provides everything one needs to prepare a simple snack or a full gourmet meal. The stove and BBQ are gas fuel. The bedrooms feature luxury linens, duvets, and electric blankets on all the beds. Outside you will find a huge deck which runs the whole length of the house. The deck is furnished with a large dining table with umbrella and chairs and teak chaise lounges. We have an abundance of beautifully planted pots which attract hummingbirds and butterflies. The BBQ is also located on the deck with a dedicated propane hook up. No empty propane tanks to worry about.

This beachfront private home sits on 1 and a half acres with over 200 feet of your own driect beach access which extends to the low tidelands with easy access to boating, swimming, and beach combing. We are located within easy driving, walking or cycling distance from the ferry landing, grocery store, post office, library and the Beach Store Café. All located less than 1 mile away.

A short 10-minute ferry ride takes you from the Mainland to Lummi Island, which has a population of around 850 people. Day trips can easily be made to Vancouver BC, Seattle or Mt Baker. You are 20 minutes from shopping in Bellingham, Lynden, and the Canadian border. The outlet malls are a little further away but WORTH it!!

Saturdays feature a seasonal farmer’s market from June through August. You can purchase fresh produce, pastries, and the local artists have their work available for sale. There are two restaurants and a coffee shop on the Island as well as a general grocery store which also carries beer and wine. Two churches on the Island hold services Sunday mornings--Island Chapel meets at the Lummi Island Grange Hall across the street from the post office and about a block north of the ferry dock. The charming century old white church is a short distance away on the west side of the Island.

In addition the Island has a number of great massage therapists who can provide in home service.

Keywords: Beautifully decorated family friendly home overlooking Hales Passage and it's own private beach. This property is an ideal location for a beachfront wedding or a family reunion. Comfortably suits a maximum of 8 people, inclusive of children with a minimum three nite stay. Sorry we do not allow pets.

Fantastic Vacation

My family arrived after the owner had had damages from the guests who wre there prior to us She had less than 48 hours to get the house back in order and was kind enough to give us our first night at no charge because she did not feel the house was up to it's usual standards. The water pressure was great no complaints. The house is comfortable and better equipped than any home we have ever been at. Our family relaxed and played on the beach. We will be back!!!!

Avoid! You will not getting your Deposit money back

Our family reunion and decided to rent this house out since this is the only house available the weekend we wanted and the owner sound very nice and detail about the house. The house is very old and outdated appliances. The kitchen is small and old furniture. The water is very low pressure, my family have to use bucket and cup to pour water when showering.
The owner is not very responsive and start making up story not to refund the deposit due to missing and stuffs like towel and kitchen hardware.
Beware of this property! it is up for sale as well, so I would think they would not care about my bad review and just take your money anyway the can.
Owner's Response: It is unfortunate when guests do damage to the contents of the home. Try to hide it then feel they have to complain.
This group left the home in deplorable condition. One of them put a very expensive stainless steel electric kettle on the gas burner. Not only was the kettle destroyed there is still melted residue that can't be removed. Lucky they did not burn the house down. They tried to hide the kettle into a far corner. The oven hood was also broken the knobs turned so far that the connections snapped. There were towels missing, cookware and dishes missing. There was grease and oil all over every surface in the kitchen. The Wok was so burnt and greasy it had to be thrown out.
Since this is an Island we had to go into the City to get the replacement items. I had to pay the labor cost to remove and install the new oven hood. I had to pay the gas and ferry charges for the person doing the repairs. Then there was the replacement cost for the damaged and missing items. All told my expenses were far more than their damage deposit which rightly was not returned to them.
They were told via e-mail and verbally that the water pressure is always low in the hot summer months. To maintain maximum water pressure do not use the dishwasher, washing machine, showers and toilets all at the same time. If they did not do this then they would have lower water pressure. I have a maximum number of occupants allowed in the house. It was observed by my neighbor and cleaners that they exceeded the amount of people they said were staying.
In addition I was threatened with a lawsuit if I did not return their deposit within a few days. I had consecutive bookings and told them that once there was a break I would get them the costs. Their abuse of my home also inconvenienced the guests who followed. All of the guests after them were very gracious and took exceptional care of the home and it's contents.
I sent them the receipts for the replacement items as well as an itemized statement of expenses incurred for labor, gas and ferry.
This is the first group who have ever done so much damage. If anything they owe me an apology. So there is the whole story.

We had a wonderful time at this property. The house itself was lovely. The owner has beautiful taste and has made this a very special retreat - from comfortable beds and fine linens to original art on the walls, to well-kept antique furniture. We enjoyed the fireplace every evening and made the most of walking the beach and playing croquet in the big yard. We cooked every day and took nice day trips to the San Juans and Vancouver. We could be as busy or as not busy as we wanted. It was just what our busy lives needed. Thanks!

Located on Lummi Island are the following: The Beach Store Cafe, The Tap Room and the highly acclaimed Willows Inn with various world class guest chefs, Island store for groceries, beer and wine, library, post office, tennis courts @ the school. Many local artists, 2 local churches and piloted sailboat rental.

Close by on the mainland is the Silver Reef Casino, the cities of Ferndale, Bellingham, Lynden, Bellingham Int'l Airport, Outlet Malls, Mt. Baker, Seatttle, WA is 1 1/2 hrs south. Vancouver BC is 1 1/2 hrs north.

There is a large deck with plenty of lounging chairs and a good size dining table to enjoy those yummy BBQ'S. The large lawn area by the beach is great for all sorts of family games, volleyball, croquet, bocce ball and others. Children love to make forts from the driftwood and you can try your hand at agate hunting, finding shells and colored beach glass. Whale watching, Eagles, Otters and Herons are just a few of the natural wonders of this gem of an Island in the San Juan's. If you have a boat you can crab in season. All in all a perfect vacation spot. The master has a califronia king size bed. The second ground floor bedroom has a queen size bed. Upstairs, the third bedroom has two full size beds. The fourth bedroom has a queen size and a single bed.
