Good evening Jennifer,
Just wanted to write and let you know how much we enjoyed your home during our stay. We arrived as the cleaning lady was leaving and the house was very clean. You weren't kidding when you said she was great! The kids absolutely loved the bunk beds and immediately felt at home. The location was perfect for us and we did make a small fire for marshmallows in the fire pit. A truly wonderful place to unwind. We certainly hope to be able to snag it again next year... more time would be great
Jennifer (the owner) was great to work with in making our arrangements. We stayed for two weeks and had friends join us for a few days here and there. Everyone loved it. We especially appreciated being able to have our dog with us on vacation, and the wheelchair accessibility of the home.
The location is ideal - in a quiet neighborhood, with easy access to the bike trail, Boat Meadow beach (which was never crowded - always interesting - and has fantastic sunsets), and all of the fun and conveniences in Orleans Center: mini golf, Stop & Shop and Target (for stuff we forgot), restaurants (loved The Lost Dog restaurant), kayak & SUP rentals at Goose Hummock. Our family likes Nauset Beach - but it's also easy to get to the National Seashore beaches. We also enjoyed a sunset sail on the Blue Lady II out of Province Town... (again, appreciating the central location of this house making it reasonable to drive to P-Town for the evening.)
The porch is definitely the best feature of the house. We spent most of our time there, until it got humid during the last few days before the tropical storm blew in. Then it was nice having the air conditioning and fans indoors. The house is relatively up to date, with plenty of space to accommodate 10 people comfortably without feeling like we were stumbling around each other. We had a good time using the fire pit for making s'mores... so nice to have a convenient wood supply to do that. The outdoor shower was also a great experience... (and good for getting rid of sand after a day at the beach).
We left with a lot of good memories.
Great home for two families - good use of space (three sitting areas, large well equipped clean kitchen), comfortable furniture, including within three season porch. Very comfortable beds in all bedrooms, and room air conditioners appreciated - kept entire home cool during warmer days. House was very clean upon arrival - no issues for the owner to address. Questions we had prior to arrival were addressed promptly, the owners were very very responsive & obviously cared about our experience.
Location - we took advantage of access to the Cape Cod rail trail at the end of cul de sac; walks/rides to downtown Orleans 1.5 miles away, lunch/dinner at Arnolds 2 miles away. Very private yard. Neighborhood was safe for our kids (ages 9-11) to ride their bikes in or walk the dog. Boat Meadow beach was technically walkable but with younger children we drove. First Encounter is another great Eastham bayside beach and only a 5 minute drive away. One note - the neighborhood borders one of Eastham's large salt marshes - so be prepared for mosquito season!
We would certainly recommend to a friend or relative & will be returning next summer!
The House was one of the best I have been in. The pictures do it no justice. The house is in a great location. You feel like you are in the country, with the long driveway and the house set back. Then just down the road is Orleans. We were a family of 10, There was no problem, with space. The kitchen was great to cook in, and the porch was the best part. The owners came to fix a couple of things, and was great to work with. I would rent this house again. You feel like you are home, from the minute you walk in.
