Hi, I am Nikos
I was born in Athens and I have lived my whole life in this city apart of short periods when I lived in several European cities.
I have studied economics in the Kapodistriakon University of Athens.
I am married to Kiriaki and we have two sons, Alex & Mario, both attending University studies in Electronic and in Mechanical Engineering.
Nikos Karipidis purchased this apartment in 2010
"Gorgeous apt. with a fabulous view of Athens from a hilly location. Highly recommended. Very friendly and accommodating owner."

Breakdown of marks:
Would you recommend this rental to a friend? Yes
This apartment was perfect for our family to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday.
With the 3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large lounge and balconies there was plenty of room for the 5 of us to spread out. So much better than staying in a hotel.
The wi-fi connection - essential when travelling with 3 young people, was really good.
The view from the roof terrace was truly spectacular.
The apartment is at the top of a really steep hill, but as other reviewers have commented on, there are plentiful taxi's at a very reasonable rates. We used them all the time.
Nikos was a perfect host and provided lots of good advise and practical help. We could contact him if we needed to, but otherwise he let us get on with our holiday.
He gave us a list of recommended restaurants which gave us a good taste of authentic Greek food at very good prices. We even bumped into Nikos and his family at one of them, and he assisted us with ordering, recommending items we might not have tried without him.
Nikos also organised taxi's door to door to and from the airport which was really worthwhile sparing the hassle of sorting it ourselves.
All in all, I would highly recommend this apartment which was very comfortable and our holiday was greatly enhanced by Nikos's assistance.
We (two couples) left this apartment feeling slightly sad as we all had a wonderful experience in and around Athens.
There is Nikos who is describes in Home Away as the building manager, in fact he really should be described as our host. We have stayed at a number of home Away properties but in terms of a comprehensive initial briefing this was the best.
The apartment lives up to and possibly exceeds the description. Very well designed and with the highest level of quality kitchen and bath equipment and accessories. Other reviewers have commented on the location at the top of a steep hill but this is all trumped by the evening views from the roof terrace across the city rooftops to the Acropolis. WE really felt, aided by a glass of wine, that we were really if only for a brief period, on top of the world. Thanks so much NIkos,
For me, there are two components that make up the overall impression of a stay: the quality of the lodgings themselves, and the quality of the service received. With regard to this Athens flat, I can honestly say that five stars are not enough.
Allow me to review chronologically. To start off, Nikos provided me with information on my various options of getting to the flat from the airport- welcome info for someone on their first visit to Athens. Better yet, he offered to make arrangements for a car service (if I wanted- no pressure), which made for a stress-free arrival for four road-ugly travelers. Even though we got in somewhat late, Nikos met us at the flat personally, gave us a warm welcome and a very detailed tour, patiently explaining all the flat's myriad features. He also provides a very handy map of the area, with recommendations for good places to eat. Suffice it to say: Nikos is an exceptionally good host.
And now the flat. It is, in short, amazing. It was obviously very recently built or remodeled, as everything is completely new. The decor is tastefully modern, and it features every convenience you could conceivably need. It's really quite spacious- Me, my wife and two 18 year-old boys were all comfortably spread out amongst all the bedrooms (and the lads had their own shared bathroom, which anyone who's ever lived with a teenaged boy can attest is a huge bonus). The views from the various balconies were breathtaking, but even they paled in comparison to the view from the rooftop patio. Sipping wine while watching the sunset over Athens, the Acropolis all lit up in the foreground and the Mediterranean Sea stretching out to the horizon is...magical, really.
The flat is well-located, with many shops both large and small within, technically, walking distance. I say "technically" because the walk is almost straight up. Seriously. The flat is at the top of a mini Mount Olympus. Like, you can toss thunderbolts from the rooftop. But the good news for lazy people like me: there are always dozens of taxis at the base of the hill, and a ride back only costs around €3 with generous tip.
I really can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you, Nikos!!
This property is great and looks exactly like the pictures on the website. It was 5 of us in the apartment and it was the perfect size for our group. The 2 bathrooms made it so much easier for 5 girls to get dressed!!!
The location is good the store is down two big hills, but relatively close (please exercise before you walk these hills) so you can get some stuff for the apartment.
Nikos is wonderful as well. He brought us two bottles of wine and set up rides for us to the airport and the beach. He is very accommodating and was also available when ever we called him.
We had a wonderful trip and this apartment helped us get a true authentic Greece experience.
Our title 'Amazing View' gives literaly the picture of this property.
The (30kms range) views from the 24h accessible terrace is breathtaking.
It's more like flying over the city in a helicopter.
Acropolis, Piraeus harbour, the sea of Saronic Gulf and the islands Aegina and Salamina are just a few of the visible sights.
The apartment located at the sides of the mot central hill of Athens.
The Attica region
The mainland of Greece forms the southernmost part of the Balkan peninsula, in the north also including parts of the historical regions of Macedonia and Thrace, further to the south narrowing into a 'Greek peninsula' in its own right, including historical Epirus, Thessaly, Boeotia and Attica, and concluding in the separate peninsula of Peloponnese, comprising the historical territories Sparta, Corinth and Argos, all surrounding the peninsula's heartland of Arcadia.
As for Attica, the region is incredibly famous and unique for its breathtaking monuments and museums. A region with great history due to also being the birthplace of the famous philosophers Aristotelis, Sokratis, Aristofanis etc.
So why not come and explore the region for yourself !
The Athens / Nea Kipseli area
The location is 'Nea Kipseli', part of the center circle, which means that if you enjoy walking you'll need about 20 minutes to Omonoia square and through that to Plaka, the old town, the Ancient Market, the Acropolis and lots of other 'must see' monuments.
On the other hand, if you are the type of public transportation, you'll find several different bus lines in 100-150 meters range around the flat, taking to all main points of the city, ex. time by bus to Omonoia square 5-6', Syntagma 10', Mesogion ave 5-6', Acropolis (south side) in 12' etc.
If you are after all a practical type, you'll realize that you can have a call-taxi waiting for you right outside your door and take you to all places mentioned above before you know it, with only a few euros. Taxis are exceptionally cheap in Greece (Omonoia 4 eur., Plaka 6 eur, Acropolis 7 eur, etc).
In a range of 100m there are pharmacy, super market, grocery, bakery, butcher shop, tobacco, food take away, you name it.
As for the issue of safety, you can ask the little children playing out in the street.
In 5 minutes walk, about 300m there is the famous Fokionos Negri street, full of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, clubs and any kind of night amusement.
