Our home has spectacular scenery from all rooms on the main floor and the finished walk-out lower level. The main floor has a charming, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, great room with a wood burning stove, sunroom, master bedroom, large bathroom, and laundry room. There is a large covered deck on the back of the house, which is perfect for sitting outside (rain, shine, or snow). First floor sleeping accommodations include a king-sized bed and two twin (trundle) beds in the master bedroom with very large walk-in closet, and a queen-sized futon (and dresser) in the sunroom. The sunroom has a pocket-door, if privacy is needed.
The walkout lower level includes another large family room, desk area, two more bedrooms (with queen and full beds), a full bath, and large “mud” room. Likewise, the lower walk-out has a sheltered patio. There is a queen sofa sleeper in the lower family room. The large mud room (which enters from the garage) is especially perfect for winter activities and storing all the snow gear and snowmobile equipment.
The 3-car attached garage has two bays available for inside parking, and the third bay contains a Ping-Pong table. There is also a basketball hoop in the driveway. The long driveway has a very large paved area by the garage an basketball hoop. And there is plenty of off-street car and trailer parking on the property.
There are many amenities, including DirecTV, DVD players, Wireless Internet/WiFi, washer and dryer, dual zone central heat/air conditioning, microwave, dishwasher, lakeside campfire pit, picnic table, grill, aluminum fishing boat, canoe, and private dock. There are also additional games for the kids, such as Legos, Lincoln Logs, play tunnels and tents, and a GameCube. Bring your own boat, or rent a boat or wave runner through the property management or local marinas and businesses.
The Sugar Camp Chain of Lakes offers a very private, scenic setting surrounded by the American Legion State Forest with minimal shoreline development. Most of the chain's shoreline is either privately owned or under the control of the Wisconsin DNR. The water level is controlled by a dam, so there should always be enough water to travel between lakes. Echo Lake (at 93 acres; depth 18 ft.) is the smallest lake, but also the calmest and quietest. There is plenty of room and depth for water sports (such as skiing, tubing, jet skiing, etc.), particularly as the deepest side of the lake is near our property. Likewise activities can expand to the other lakes, which include Chain Lake (201 acres; 19 ft.), Stone Lake (178 acres; 16 ft.), Sand Lake (547 acres; 25 ft.) and Dam Lake (732 acres; 32 ft.). There are three boat ramps between the five lakes – on Chain, Sand, and Stone Lakes.
Enjoy the secluded and scenic splendors the Northwoods has to offer – while being just minutes from great dining, go-carting, horseback riding, shopping, golfing, bike trails, snowmobile trails, and much more. This is the only rental property on Echo Lake, so make your reservation today before the calendar is full.

Guestbook comments from the owner
I spent much of my time working on a writing project. I also had the chance to get out for a pleasant run on the road and take the canoe out. I saw a couple of loons while canoeing. My time on the lake visiting the wildlife was a wonderful change of pace - and my writing project went well, so it didn't seem like a chore!. I wanted to thank you for having this wonderful home available for rent! I've been to a few of these rental homes in the Northwoods, and this has been one of my favorites! Thanks again!
The Quicks (locally managed by Tony and Arlyce Farrow)
We've been coming to the Northwoods for over 40 years, when my parents would take us Up North. And now we have passed along that tradition to our children - who refer to our Wisconsin trips as their most favorite vacations. In 2012, we purchased this 'cabin' lake house in our most favorite location. But between our jobs and the kid's school and activities, we can't make it Up North as often as we would like -- so it just makes sense to rent the place when we can't be there. So please enjoy and create some memories of your own at our Quick Escape!
We are continuously updating the rooms as time permits, so you may notice changes in the pictures. It's always enjoyable to decorate for the Northwoods!
Tony and Arlyce Farrow are our local managers, and are just right around the corner to take care of your needs. As renters over all these years, we've been very impressed with their prompt reponse and customer service.
We hope you have the chance to come stay at our place.
And in the words of our children --
THERE'S NOTHING LIKE A TRIP UP NORTH!
The home and it's location on the Sugar Camp Chain of Lakes is a perfect setup. It's great to be on a smaller lake where it is very quiet and secluded, and still be able to take advantage of the larger lakes. You can sit on the deck or pier and listen to the Loons, watch the bald eagles, or feed the deer -- or ski on a calm mirror of water -- or take a walk or bike ride down the enormously tall tree-lined private streets that are tucked away from all the traffic. We like water sports, and there is plenty of room on the lake for fun to ski, tube, jet ski, wake board, knee board, etc. Likewise, the lakes offer some of the best fishing around, to catch that ultimate Musky. If you want to take a cruise on the lake - you have 5 lakes to choose from -- make it an all day adventure or a short trip to Sand Lake and stop by Pitlik's for their excellent Bloody Mary and fantastic menu. Since we are perfectly situated between St. Germain and Eagle River, groceries, souvenir shopping, restaurants, bars, go-carts, bike trails, etc. are all a short drive away. And don't forget about the St. Germain flea market, Cranberry Festival, Pond Hockey tournament, fishing tournaments -- and the fact that Eagle River is the 'snowmobile capital of the world.'
You can't go wrong with this house, its location, and all the amenities -- that's why we had to get it!
