If you are familiar with walk scores, My Lady's Manor, in the thriving town of Estavayer, surely scores a perfect 100! Only steps from the train station with its hourly connections, the location affords many leisurely day trips--ours included trips to Murten, Interlocken and Lavaux Vineyards complete with a cruise on Lake Leman (Geneva) and a petite train tour of the vineyards originating at the pier in Lutry. With a grocery across the street and other bakeries, butcher shops, restaurants, banks, drug store, post office and all manor of small shops there is nothing needed you can't find. We enjoyed the quiet meditation afforded by two ancient chapels--the Collegiate Church of Saint Laurent and the chapel of the Dominican sisters. Our group of 10 enjoyed My Lady's Manor for its historic charm, its spaciousness--both inside and out, its places to come together to eat, cook and visit and for the privacy and comfort of its bedrooms. In our eight days there, it quickly felt like home. Phyllis is the perfect hostess with a humorous and vibrant knowledge of the town's history. Her help before our arrival, our time there and her kind send-off will be remembered by all of us for years to come!
