Owner / Property Manager purchased this apartment in 1910
We enjoyed our one week stay in DC. There is so much to do, and this apartment is in a wonderful location to do it. The closest Metro station is Eastern Market, and you can walk there in about 10 minutes. Easy to get around DC on the Metro. The owners provide a notebook full of suggestions on what to see and do.
The apartment itself is the basement of a Lincoln Park townhouse. It is adequately furnished for visitors including a washer and dryer and wifi. Parking is on the street, but the owners provide a parking pass so that was not a problem. You really don't need a car unless you want to explore outside the city.
Since this is a basement apartment, you are going to hear footsteps and noise from the above level. Not much can be done about that. Any other issues that came up during the week, were readily addressed by the owner.
Our family of 4 had a great stay at the Sweet Lincoln Suite. We didn't interact with the owners because there was no need to - everything was there, well-explained and easy to use! We did hear the pitter patter of little feet above us but that was no big deal. I would hesitate to have more than 2 adults stay because at the end of a long day of walking, we all wanted to crash on the couch and there wasn't quite enough room for that. Loved being about to walk to the grocery store, Metro and Eastern Market!
Very lovely apartment and cozy in the freezing February temperatures while we were there. We were insulated from the cold and wind whipping about being in the basement apartment. Dawn and Justin are nearby and very attentive. Using the Direct TV connection did prove a challenge, so maybe additional instruction for cable people would be helpful.
The Sweet Lincoln Suite is perfectly located for someone who wants to visit the National Mall. The apartment is very comfortable and the owners are very nice and helpful. We used the "bike-share" bikes to get around and enjoyed biking to the monuments.
I spent 3 nights at the Lincoln Suite and it was a very positive experience. My "landlords" couldn't have been more helpful, and I know I taxed their patience but they never once appeared to be less than delighted to hear from me! The location is very convenient to the metro and bus and it's an easy walk to the Capitol, et al. A lovely public park is just down the street from the apt. and there are lots of good restaurants within walking distance. The apt. was spic and span clean and very well equipped. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
Perfect location. It was close to the metro. The neighborhood was quiet and charming and safe. Apartment was quite spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The owners were quite responsive. This was by far the best apartment we had on our 5 week trip to the DC/Virginia/Carolina area. We will definitely stay here if we return to DC.
