We've lived in Austin since 1996 and love the city! Amanda has been a licensed Realtor in Austin for 12 years, and we personally manage all of our rental properties - both furnished and unfurnished. We love meeting our guests from all over the world and creating a wonderful and memorable visit for them in Austin. And when we're vacationing, we always enjoy staying in vacation rentals and bed & breakfasts as well!
The home is in a quiet neighborhood with such a beautiful setting on a small quaint lake in Austin. It's peaceful and serene, yet only minutes from the Domain, UT, and downtown. You can sit on the large deck or in the hot tub in the sunroom and relax while the sun sets.
We have personally managed all of our rental properties for 10 years and take pride in each home we own. Our goal is to make sure every guest has a wonderful experience staying with us!
The City of Austin requires that Vacation rentals obtain a license for legal operation. Legal operations will have their license number in their listing.
Traveling with another couple and children we appreciated having multiple king beds in the house so that we didn't have to fight over the master! Our 5 year old slept on the daybed in the master bedroom which was perfect since he was a little scared about being in a new house. Thank you for letting us stay in such a clean house, I don't think mine has ever been this clean. We had a lovely visit.
Our whole clan came to Austin for a wedding and needed beds for all the kids and grandkids. Uncles and aunts, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, even a few wee ones came for the big celebration. Greg and Amanda were brilliant at fitting us into three of their homes and we will forever be grateful for the memories. We were in such a rush to book a house we didn't realize this house had such a great view and were very pleasantly surprised. Perfectly clean house, well decorated, we didn't use the hot tub but it looked very nice.
Such a great find! It's nice, cozy and kid friendly. My 9 and 3 year old loved the hot tub and the outdoor patio. I've rented many vacation homes in the past and they just never had enough of anything. The house was well stocked with toilet paper, laundry and dish detergent, and plenty of towels. And we had access to the washer/dryer. The house was so comfortable it was like we never left home.
Our family of 10 enjoyed this home immensely! The space was wonderful for the children. We enjoyed the barbecue on the deck and the hot tub. Our only complaint was the lack of kitchen towels, ktichen washcloths. We ended up using a bath wash cloth which were also scarce. For both bathrooms there was only two hand towels and four wash cloths. Other than that we enjoyed our week long stay and will definitely come back.
Our company was visiting for SXSW Interactive and it was a great trip. The house had what we needed, plus a great lake view out of the living room. Having a place for us to regroup and plan the next day was an absolute must. Good beds, and although it's not downtown it wasn't a bad drive plus the home was a great value compared to the other home rentals we checked. Owners were very nice and easy to work with. Internet was fast too.
This is a beautiful home on the lake. It has plenty of room inside plus a big deck with tables & chairs and a super-nice grill. But if you're in town for an event with family or friends, don't be thinking you can have them over to socialize. There are strict regulations about how many people can be at the house and I was told someone might drive by to make sure there weren't too many cars. I understand they had a bad experience but in the end it wasn't worth it for us. We were in town for our son's wedding and thought this would be a good place for family to drop by but were so paranoid we only had a couple people over one night. Also, if you have a bad back, all the beds are platform beds (so no box springs) and are quite firm. I ended up going out and buying some padding for my bed so I could get through the week. I realize I may be the exception, but if you're looking for a super comfy bed, this is not the place. The owners were reasonable to deal with ahead and answered my questions. The view was very relaxing.
This was a great first experience with HomeAway. The home was better than in the pictures. Everything was very clean and well-maintained.
Greg, one of the owners, was very attentive and responded quickly with a few questions I had. The house is in a nice neighborhood that's close to several restaurants and stores. If any one is thinking about spending a few days in Austin, I would recommend this place.
