Perfect Getaway for our Large Crowd

What a positively awesome property this is! The cabin
is decorated so tastefully, and exudes from every nook
and cranny warmth and a cozy feeling. The layout
of the house was such, that everyone seemed to find
their favorite spot to hang out. We came with my
husband , me and our daughter, my sister and her
husband and daughter, our elderly parents, plus each
of the kids brought a friend. My parents decided to
take the downstairs bedroom, and used the foyer as
their “reading and talking” room. With the downstairs
bathroom adjacent, they felt as if they had their very
own suite. The kids all decided the downstairs game/
family was their hangout with the bumper pool table ,
dart board, plus they played several games the owners
left. Which helped out immensely as it down poured
two of our seven day stay.
The rest of us spent most of the time upstairs…….it
was great! We kept saying to each other, where are the
kids?? Where are mom and dad?? The second story deck
with the enclosed tarp worked out perfect, one to keep
the sun off of us while eating, but worked out well when
it was raining. We ate almost every meal on the deck.
The owners even provided the much needed lobster
pot!!
Having a tennis court here on the property was
fantastic. We didn’t think we would play so much as
it had been years since we actually played. However,
if we were home someone was on that court!! We
actually all got pretty good by the end of the week, even
the girls. (added benefit, first time I came home from
vacation having lost weight..ha,ha)
The fire pit was so nice, we had a campfire almost
every night too. The owners thought of everything,
from providing linens and blankets, to fire wood, to the
tennis rackets and balls, garbage bags, ample pots, pans
and small kitchen appliances, even spices, movie dvd’s
saran wrap, and foil. We have rented several houses in
the past and this is the first time those items have been
included. The kitchen was set up with a cook’s mind it
was obvious. The beds were all very comfortable.
We went to the Casino in Oxford
and also the speedway, and New Balance outlet store,
and we all got a new pair of sneakers. We spent a day
in Naples, ate at Rick’s café and played mini golf. We
went swimming at Pleasant Lake public beach which
was great….what a beautiful lake! We plan on making this an
annual vacation spot, and also plan on coming up for
leaf peeping! Thank you Pam and Drew!
