Ideal weather year round. Padres baseball across the street at Petco Park. Cultural events at the symphony, ballet and the theaters. Great tourist attractions:Sea World, Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Legoland, Pro football, museums, whale watching, sandy beaches, and Disneyland and all of LA just up the road.
When in town we go everywhere without a car. We walk to nearly everything, including the supermarkets and street markets, great restaurants and bars in the East Village, Gaslamp, Little Italy, and also in trendy Hillcrest. Hop on the trolley to go further afield. Mexico is a short trolley ride.
We stayed at this East Village condo for three months this winter. Everything about our stay was perfect. The condo is situated so it is close to all the downtown action. There is plenty to do with many, many restaurants within walking distance, the ocean a few blocks away and shopping at nearby Seaport Village and the many other shops downtown. The condo itself is very comfortable and the best equipped condo we've ever stayed in. We didn't do much cooking, but everything for making meals is definitely there. Living room and dining furniture are comfortable and well-appointed. Ample storage throughout the condo made our stay more pleasant as we prepared for Christmas and found places for the many things we brought to San Diego for our three month stay. The owners were extremely easy to work with and always available. Ours was a wonderful experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys city life. One half block to Petco Stadium and three blocks to GasLamp. The condo is extremely comfortable and relaxing. Enjoy your walks along the water as you continue your stroll to SeaPort Village for shopping and dining. Coronado Island is easily accessible for a relaxing day at a beautiful beach or Mission Bay Beach for enjoying the views under a tree with a good book. The owners, Jim and Robin , could not be more accommodating offering a wonderfully furnished condo at reasonable prices. The whole experience is one we would highly recommend.
I stayed here for 4 months and if it weren't plagiarism I would repeat every word of the 05/03/13 review of John G and then add that the automated massaging lounge chair in the living room is a real treat and the building staff very friendly. Of course I would stay here again !
Stayed here for a month in April and the place exceeded my expectations. I loved living in this part of San Diego, especially during the baseball season. Although the owners were out of country, it felt like they were around the corner. Communication was great throughout the whole process. Emails were answered promptly and they provided all information required to make moving in and moving out very easy.
The condo is wonderful with very nice furnishings. The couch is particularly comfortable. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook any meal while visiting but you probable will be going out for dinner since you are located in one of the best eating towns in the nation. The bed slept comfortably. Bathroom was adequately appointed and the shower has great water pressure and a seemingly endless supply of hot water. I never turned on the AC or Heat so I am not sure how they worked. The cross breeze with the windows opened was perfect for me.
Parking in the garage was very easy, safe, and secure. Elevators in the building are especially fast and I never recall waiting for an elevator (even when folks were moving in). I met several of the neighbors in the lobby and up on the roof top terrace and everyone was so nice and polite.
My gym is across the street, but I did use the fitness equipment on the 14th floor and the equipment was adequate and in good operating condition. You will be outside mostly because of the great weather in San Deigo.
I would absolutely stay in this condo again while visiting San Diego. It has everything I need and you absolutely cannot beat the location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jim's and Robin's condo. If you like baseball, you can see homegames from the roof -- perfect view. Also has nice fitness room and grill. The condo was very well appointed and Jim's service went beyond the call of duty. What a terrific guy to deal with ----- We know that he has just recently been renting out this condo. Have NO hesitation at all --- we give it the highest recommendation after staying for 2 months!
