Rainier and Mount St. Helens are a day-trip; quiet, residential neighborhood with plenty of street parking. About The Owner

I live in the main part of this house - renting out the two separate apartments. I enjoy meeting new people and take great pleasure in being able to share this part of the country with others. There's so much to do here you'll have to come back time and time again to see it all.

Check out my other property, same location - 364168.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1987

Why The Owner chose Wallingford

I bought my house in 1987. Once I toured this neighborhood, I knew it was for me. The mother-in-law apartment was part of the house when I moved in - and has provided opportunity for 'sharing the wealth' all these years.

What makes this apartment unique

You'll be able to look out the back kitchen window at the lovely garden, close the curtains for a quiet and peaceful sleep in the bedroom, enjoy the bright sun and park-view from the living area. If the day is warm, open the divided-light porch windows and let the breeze blow in the scents of the flowers and trees that surround this charming property.

So peaceful!!!!

We had the most amazing stay at this little apartment.

It is in the cutest neighborhood which is walking distance to everything you could need. There is plenty of free parking (total rarity from my other experiences in Seattle). A lovely whimsical garden with the sounds of running water greets you. The apartment itself is bright and cheerful. There is just enough furniture to be comfortable but not clutter. The bedroom is nice and dark. The bed is super comfortable. It was super quiet. The kitchen had everything you need and a window overlooking the backyard area. Garnett was very nice and really went out of her way to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We look forward to going back to Seattle so we can stay here again.

The cozy apartment is on the ground floor of a historic bungalow of a quiet street in Wallingford - a 10 minute drive from downtown Seattle. The feature we enjoyed most was having breakfast in the sun room peering over the garden sculptures through the large front windows . The weather was largely wonderful for early spring in Seattle and the cherry blossoms were in bloom in the garden. All though very beautiful and zen-like in a light wind, the sound from the wind chimes was a bit much when the weather changed. Our host was very friendly and accommodating over the three days we were there.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you had a good stay - and I'm so sorry about the wind chimes. I'm used to them, so hardly notice them unless there's a big wind. Thanks for the heads up - I need to be aware of that and take them down when a wind kicks up.

This place is everything it claims to be and is hosted by an amazingly cool person. They have everything you need, they are knowledgeable about the area and are willing to help whenever. But even more important then that, they leave you alone. We like our privacy and we got it no problem. Our stay was awesome, can't wait to go back, zero complaints.

We will be back!

What a perfect location for exploring Wallingford and surrounds. It was so nice to walk around vs always driving. The location is perfect. We atyed in Apt 1 and it is comfy, bright, and charming. So much character! Plus Garnett and Bev were very welcoming. We will be back for sure!

Owner's Response: Thanks Freda - and I'm glad to hear you'll be back. Everything changes - always, and the gardens are just now beginning to flex their muscle; crocus are up, daffodils are blooming, the cherry trees are just starting to show their colors and the fruit tree buds are plumping - a very exciting time of year. Your next visit you'll be walking among the color!!

Pleasant Neighborhood House with Garden

  • 5 of 5

This rental was perfect for us as it's within blocks of where our son lives in Wallingford. It's in a great walking neighborhood and we were able to walk each morning to get breakfast. (The rental has a kitchen, but we chose not to cook for the limited time we would be there). There's a beautiful, quiet garden with a table and chairs out front for relaxing and reading. Garnett, the owner, lives in the house and we enjoyed meeting and talking with her. We'll definitely want to stay here when we visit Seattle again. It's far enough out from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet the Seattle skyline is within view from the end of the street.

Unexpected treasure

  • 5 of 5

Charming, tasteful, comfortable and well-located in an upscale residential neighborhood. Lovely older home with delightful garden. The village of Wallingford is a quick walk from the house and has dozens of unique restaurants to sample, a very nice grocery store, and easy access to public transportation. The location is convenient to everything in Seattle. We loved our four night stay here - especially relaxing on the garden patio with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing!
