This home has been newly furnished and offers all the conveniences of home. The 3 bedrooms feature new beds. The master has a queen bed pillow-top, a six drawer dresser, 2 nightstands & cable TV. The master has a large closet, extra linens & towels and has an on-suite with tub & separate shower. The guest bedroom has a queen pillow-top bed, night stand and an eight drawer high-boy dresser, extra sheets, blankets and closet. The office/3rd bedroom has a twin bed, desk, chair, bedside dresser and closet. The guest bathroom has a tub/shower combo, toilet and sink. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook any and all meals either on stove top, full oven baking or broil. Microwave, dishwasher, and full size refrigerator can handle lots of food and drinks. There is a cozy eating niche. Loads of glasses, dishes, utensils, pots and pans and baking dishes. Everything you will need. The living room has a seven foot couch, comfortable recliner and a wicker chair for relaxing. Flatscreen cable TV, Bluray disc DVD player, SONY CD player/radio, games, DVD's, books, everything to make you feel at home. Washer and dryer are located in a separate laundry room, off the kitchen, for your convenience. OUR favorite relaxing spot is the large front deck attached to the front of our home where we spend most nights talking 'till after dark and observing all the wildlife wandering through for a visit! Priceless! The circular drive makes easy in & out access and having the 'Ferndale Market' across the road makes grocery shopping, fishing bate & license purchase, river inner tube inflation and gasoline buying so very convenient. A gas barbecue can be brought out for use on request. NO PETS are allowed.
Owners, Mike and Judi, fell in love with this magical location while attending a friends wedding here in 2002. We purchased this property approx. 2 months later. It had an old mobile home on it when we originally purchased it. In 2007 we removed the old mobile and had this new home installed, set back, and placed it to face the mountain range. We just love our Montana 'Swan River Acre' and have many friends and family 'get-togethers' there. Living in Southern California can get hectic for Mike, an Active Duty Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton and wife Judi, a Realtor, so this is truly a special 'get away' for us and hope it will be for you.

On our first visit here for the wedding (Mike was best man) we couldn't believe the beauty of the area and the reasonable property pricing. Also, Mike was so excited about the fishing saying it reminded him of his first trout fishing experience, many years ago in, McMinville, Oregon where he graduated from Linfield college. It was meant for us to make this our 2nd home!
The location of this property was perfect for us. The home is set back far enough for privacy yet you can walk across the road, to Ferndale Market for groceries, spirits, coffee, fishing license, bait & tackle. The Swan river is a 2 minute walk and there are no neighbors between our home and the river, only forest, which allows wildlife to walk on through for our enjoyment!
We had a wonderful stay at this vacation rental only 5 minutes away from Big Fork. It has the privacy and mountain view that we were looking for with a convenient location to gas, groceries, restaurants, shopping, and lake access. Our teenage son loved fishing and tubing on Swan River. The accommodations were perfect for our family of three. Like most places in Montana, there was no air conditioning, but fans were provided and helped to cool the house down in the evenings. Deer wandered into the yard every evening and wild turkeys showed up one morning as well. The owner Judi was prompt in addressing a yellow jackets nest that we found under the deck railing. We would definitely stay here again!
If you love to fish, take a 2 minute walk from our home & catch some delicious tasting trout! That trout, lives in the Swan River which also features canoe, kayak & tube adventures. A short 10 minute drive, can take you to Horseshoe lake where you can enjoy solitude, fishing, swimming, kayaking or turtle watching! From the front deck of our home you can enjoy deer, wild turkeys, squirrels & hopefully NO bears, wandering through! The eight mile drive, to the town of Bigfork, is a must. Dining is no problem with the choice of any number of delicious restaurants. Also available in Bigfork: Live theater and local gift shopping can make your 'Bigfork town' experience complete. With Flathead lake being just down the road, you can rent jet ski's, canoe's or, go out on a narrated tour boat to enjoy the beauty & learn about this special location.The lovely drive to the Whitefish ski resort and Glacier National Park are adventures you won't forget. Don't miss out on white water river rafting, which can be booked through local companies with guides. The scenery is spectacular and the trips are customized ranging from calm and scenic to heart pounding! YES! Hiking is also available inside Glacier National park. Also, take a drive to Hungry Horse Dam, quite the engineering marvel. The views at the dam are fantastic! Lastly,we recommend, saving time a for our favorite activity: enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of just getting away and observe unspoiled nature all around!
