William H Clark 'Bill' purchased this cottage in 2006
Purchased at Bear Lake Reserve for it's natural beauty and outdoor activities. Owned property at the beach for years and decided we needed something quiet and relaxful.
Love spending time on the lake, sitting on the rear deck enjoying the mountain views and the cozy fire.
Our whole group of 10 people loved this place! We absolutely loved all the amenities and features included in the house. Everyone really enjoyed the steam shower and heated floors in the bathroom downstairs and that along with the all the fireplaces kept us very warm on a cold January weekend. We plan on making another trip out here soon!
We had our third annual Marine Corps Reunion at this cottage, and we all loved it. Every household amenity that you can think of this cottage has. We had a great time fishing in the nearby ponds, hiking on the miles of trails, and relaxing on the decks at night by the fire. The golf course is not only awesome to play, but also has some of the most amazing views. Especially when the leaves were changing while we were there. Cannot wait to come back and do it again next year!!!
Stayed at this home for wedding weekend and absolutely loved it! All guests included in this stay were very pleased and impressed with this high tech home. Highly recommend if traveling with a group of 8 or more. Enjoy your upcoming stay! All needs met, and owners prepared for our stay.
Your FULLY equipped cabin was the perfect retreat for our large group. We had four adults on the main level and three kids and another adult downstairs and it worked perfectly. The media room was a big hit at night. Thanks again for a great stay.
My brother and I travelled from Liverpool, England, to stay in this magnificent mountain cottage between April 21st and April 26th. We are aged 21 and 18 and after travelling around Europe over the last 3 years this is undoubtedly the best place we have ever been! The reserve has so much to do, my personal favourite was a kayak ride to the waterfall. I would also recommend renting a boat to be able to take in the wonderful views bear lake offers!
Moving on from the natural beauty of the reserve, the cottage itself would have made the trip worthwhile! The owners truly have given it a very homely feel and they have thought of everything to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Also we thought the cinema room was a really great addition, we would relax there after a hard days exploring. If you are interested in hiking, I would recommend Panthertown Valley, which is maybe a 40 minute drive away. The views are truly spectacular and there are several waterfalls to visit.
To summarise our stay in such a small amount of words is extremely hard as we have taken back to England the best memories imaginable. I would highly recommend this property to people of all ages and with different interest as there is countless things to do. We are already talking about returning as no other place has so much to offer!
We rented the cabin for our the wedding party for our wedding at Castle Ladyhawke. The cabin was beautiful, in fantastic shape, more than we had expected. Bill was super responsive and helpful with any issues that came up. He has a local contact that helped us get checked into the cabins and made sure we knew everything we needed to know about the cabins.
I would stay at this cabin and / or rent from this owner anytime I wanted to stay in Bear Lake. On the plus side the cabins are located in the front of the Bear Lake property so you don't have to drive 20 minutes once you get into Bear Lake to get to the property.
