Lake views! Mountain views! This roomy mountainside home overlooks Lake Tahoe with dramatic views of 'Big Blue' from nearly every room. Large open living-dining-kitchen area with picture windows to the lake and massive fireplace is ideal for families & entertaining. French doors open onto a large elevated deck with more breath-taking views. Beamed ceilings and cozy furnishings give a true mountain feel. Three separate guest suites with private baths are located in different parts of the house for maximum guest privacy.
Easy entry is provided to Little Pine Lodge by attached 2-car garage on lower level. This floor includes a large sleeping area & bath containing two twins and 2 pull-out trundle beds. This room has French doors to its own private patio, views of Lake Tahoe, cable TV, game table and a small extra niche for storage. An adjacent office contains a comfortable futon that sleeps two.
Around the corner and down the hall is the Master Suite with Cal-king bed, flat-screen TV & DVD, Jacuzzi tub, separate tile shower and lots of closet space. Master has views of the lake and French doors leading out to the landscaped yard.
Upstairs on the main floor is a large open entertainment space devoted to great room, dining area and modern kitchen. The classic great room is well appointed with leather & alpine-style furnishings. This room seats 10+ people and includes a 15' picture window facing Lake Tahoe, stone fireplace and an entertainment center with flat screen TV, DVD player and stereo/CD with Bose speakers inside and outdoor speakers on the deck. Dining table seats 8 and the adjacent kitchen/pantry is open, roomy and well-equipped...plenty of room for extra chefs. The kitchen has spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and there is a handy breakfast bar facing the lake. This level also features a comfortable guest suite with Cal-king bed, attached bathroom and a separate laundry room with washer/dryer.
With a king-suite on each level plus a large multi-purpose sleeping area/game room perfect for children, Little Pine Lodge is well suited for two couples with or without kids, families with grandparents, large families or three couples. During summer the home is cool, dry and breezy and you will want to live on the open decks soaking in the sun and gazing at pristine Lake Tahoe. In winter it is warm and cozy with wood-burning fireplace and views of the snow-covered Sierras. Because it is away from Rt. 28 and other busy roads it is quiet all year round. Important convenience: Little Pine Lodge has just two floors…many other hillside homes have 3 or 4 levels, making routine tasks like unloading groceries a chore.
Little Pine Lodge is well stocked with extra linens & blankets, cleaning supplies, sports equipment, games and books. Recreational opportunities abound: the Lake Tahoe area is known for world-class golf, hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, and kayaking. Close by are nearly a dozen ski areas including Diamond Peak, Mt. Rose, Heavenly, Northstar and Squaw Valley, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics (record snowfall for 2011 was over 700” at the peaks). South Lake Tahoe, Virginia City and Yosemite National Park are within driving distance. Crystal Bay is just 40 minutes from the Reno/Tahoe International Airport. Winter guests please note that a 4WD vehicle is required. They say the sun shines in Lake Tahoe 300 days per year so you are likely to have good vacation weather during any season.
Historic Crystal Bay is a small community perched on the steep, rocky shelf rising from North Lake Tahoe. Narrow roads weave through seemingly impassible terrain dodging huge cedars, firs and pines and most homes here have a great view of the lake because of the sharp incline. Crystal Bay has three operating casinos, many restaurants and it is home to the famous Cal-Neva Lodge once owned by Frank Sinatra. The California state line is less than a mile west of Little Pine Lodge and Incline Village is a mile to the east. Guests have access to Incline Village facilities for a reasonable fee, including beaches and recreation center.
Little Pine Lodge is located on a terraced end-of-street lot and is surrounded by natural stone walls, aspen trees and massive pines. This home is located close to casinos and restaurants including our favorite, The Soule Domain. Enjoy your stay!
