LITTLE PINE LODGE - CHARMING 3BR-3BA HOME - LAKE TAHOE VIEWS!!

Crystal Bay House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Little Pine Lodge…inviting, clean & comfortable 3BR-3BA home overlooking Lake Tahoe for rent by owner. Great for families & entertaining! TIP: Always spend the few extra dollars to rent a home with views of beautiful, blue Lake Tahoe! It's worth it and your family will thank you!

Lake views! Mountain views! This roomy mountainside home overlooks Lake Tahoe with dramatic views of 'Big Blue' from nearly every room. Large open living-dining-kitchen area with picture windows to the lake and massive fireplace is ideal for families & entertaining. French doors open onto a large elevated deck with more breath-taking views. Beamed ceilings and cozy furnishings give a true mountain feel. Three separate guest suites with private baths are located in different parts of the house for maximum guest privacy.

Easy entry is provided to Little Pine Lodge by attached 2-car garage on lower level. This floor includes a large sleeping area/bath containing two twins and 2 pull-out trundle beds. This room has French doors to its own private patio, views of Lake Tahoe, flat-screen cable HDTV, game table and a small extra niche for storage. An adjacent office contains a comfortable futon that sleeps two.

Around the corner and down the hall is the Master Suite with Cal-king bed, flat-screen HDTV & DVD, Jacuzzi tub, separate tile shower and lots of closet space. Master has views of the lake and French doors leading out to the landscaped yard. The master bedroom on the lower level and main guest suite on the upper level now feature European down comforters and 500 thread count cotton sheets & duvets, all freshly laundered for each reservation. You will find these Cal-king beds to be as comfortable and inviting as you can imagine.

Upstairs on the main floor is a large open entertainment space devoted to great room, dining area and modern kitchen. The classic great room is well appointed with leather & alpine-style furnishings. This room seats 10+ people and includes a 15' picture window with awesome views of Lake Tahoe, stone fireplace and an entertainment center with flat screen HDTV, DVD player and stereo/CD with Bose speakers inside and outdoor speakers on the deck. Dining table seats 8 and the adjacent kitchen/pantry is open, roomy and well-equipped...plenty of room for extra chefs. The kitchen has spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and there is a handy breakfast bar facing the lake. This level also features a comfortable guest suite with Cal-king bed/attached bathroom and a separate laundry room with washer/dryer.

With a king-suite on each level plus a large multi-purpose sleeping area/game room perfect for children, Little Pine Lodge is well suited for two couples with or without kids, families with grandparents, large families or three couples. During summer the home is cool, dry and breezy and you will want to live on the open decks soaking in the sun and gazing at pristine Lake Tahoe. In winter it is warm and cozy with wood-burning fireplace and views of the snow-covered Sierras. Because it is away from Rt. 28 and other busy roads it is quiet all year round. Important convenience: Little Pine Lodge has just two floors to save you steps…many other hillside homes have 3 or 4 levels, making routine tasks like unloading groceries a chore.

Little Pine Lodge is well stocked with extra linens & blankets, cleaning supplies, sports equipment, games and books. Recreational opportunities abound: the Lake Tahoe area is known for world-class golf, hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, and kayaking. Close by are nearly a dozen ski areas including Diamond Peak, Mt. Rose, Heavenly, Northstar and Squaw Valley, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics (record snowfall for 2011 was over 700” at the peaks). South Lake Tahoe, Virginia City and Yosemite National Park are within easy driving distance. Crystal Bay is just 40 minutes from the Reno/Tahoe International Airport. Winter guests please note that a 4WD vehicle is required and there is space for only 2 vehicles because roadside snowbanks limit parking...roadside parking is illegal. They say the sun shines in Lake Tahoe 300 days per year so you are likely to have good vacation weather during any season.

Historic Crystal Bay is a small community perched on the steep, rocky shelf rising from North Lake Tahoe. Narrow roads weave through seemingly impassible terrain dodging huge cedars, firs and pines and most homes here have a great view of the lake because of the sharp incline. Crystal Bay has three operating casinos, many restaurants and it is home to the famous Cal-Neva Lodge once owned by Frank Sinatra. The California state line is less than a mile west of Little Pine Lodge and Incline Village is a mile to the east. Guests have access to Incline Village facilities for a reasonable fee, including beaches and recreation center.

Little Pine Lodge is located on a terraced end-of-street lot and is surrounded by natural stone walls, aspen trees and massive pines. This home is located close to casinos and restaurants including our favorite, The Soule Domain. Enjoy your stay!

We're from Ohio and we love our home state but, frankly, we get more than our share gray skies and humidity. I used to travel a lot and one day I was in Reno on business. It was sunny but HOT outside and someone suggested I drive up to Lake Tahoe and have a look around...I had always heard about Tahoe but I didn't even realize it was nearby. Anyway, I jumped into my rental car and started driving. About half way up the mountain I opened up the windows & turned off the AC. By the time I reached the pass it was so cool that I actually put up the windows briefly. Well, if you have been to the Lake you know what I experienced the first time I saw Tahoe. What an awesome sight. I drove around that deep blue Lake and just soaked in the beauty, the typical sunny, dry, cool 75 degree weather, the mountains (still snow-capped in mid-summer) and all the visitors engaged in hiking, golf and sports of all kinds. I called my wife, Sally, that day and told her that I'd found a place she had to experience with me. We bought our first house the following year (1996) and we found Little Pine Lodge in 2009.

We really enjoy doing things outside, especially with our family. The ocean is fun but about a week of the salt, heat and humidity is plenty for us. They say the sun shines 300 days per year at Lake Tahoe. So the sun basically shines most days during all 4 seasons and summer temperatures are typically cool and dry. In winter if it isn't snowing the sun is usually shining. It just makes for great outdoor activities year round.

If you have been to Lake Tahoe you already know what I am talking about. If you are planning a visit for the first time, you are in for the experience of your life.

Steve Foster purchased this house in 2009

Since we are from Ohio, we enjoy traveling to the Sierras. The landscapes, architecture, weather, just about everything is different from our home. We also think it's important to get the 'feeling' of the places we visit. That's why we were attracted to Little Pine Lodge...this house makes you feel like you're in the mountains. The overstuffed furniture, massive stone fireplace, open beamed ceiling, alpine decorations and of course the huge picture windows overlooking Lake Tahoe remind you that you are really in the mountains. It creates the atmosphere necessary for a relaxing and memorable getaway...and no matter how often we visit this place we depart feeling better about ourselves and the world.

TIP OF THE DAY: Always spend the few extra dollars to rent a home with views of Lake Tahoe. It is worth it! Your family will thank you for it!

LATEST IMPROVEMENTS: When you visit Lake Tahoe you will spend about 8 hours per day in bed. We have recently made a significant improvement at Little Pine Lodge. Starting November 1, 2013, we have changed the bedding scheme in the two main suites to European high-loft down comforters covered with buttery-soft, 500 thread count cotton sheets and duvets, all freshly laundered for each reservation. The down comforter is as light as a feather, hypoallergenic and warm, and the experience equals what we discovered while visiting upscale Swiss resorts like Davos and Arosa! We think you will find our Cal-king beds to be the most restful and inviting you can imagine. In addition, we now offer improved Wi-Fi speed and HDTV with 4 TVs and 3 DVD players.

GREAT SUMMER ESCAPE

  • 5 of 5
Our family of 5 escaped the heat to Lake Tahoe and stayed in this home for 4 nights in June. We would have stayed longer if more nights were available. The two sets of trundle beds in the down stairs bedroom were used as king size beds for 2, so all of us had big and comfortable beds. The views of the lake from the upstairs were great. When not out having fun (day hike to Emerald Bay, jet skiing from Sand Harbor), we spent most of our time out on the upper deck, watching the squirrels and blue jays in the pines. The house was clean (except the smell of urine in the master bathroom upon arrival - bathroom carpets are not very practical) and well equipped, but there was only one DVD. Nonetheless, we had a great time and the home was very nice. We would love to go back.

Owner's Response: Thanks for 5 Star review. We called in the Rooter Man on the toilet & he found a bar of soap & wash cloth lodged in the drain...could have been there for weeks...all taken care of now & carpet cleaned professionally. The living room DVD did crash for the previous guests and has now been replaced so DVDs in Both LR & Master BR. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

TOTAL & COMPLETE BLISS!

Total & Complete Bliss!
  • 5 of 5
My husband and I decided to celebrate our 44th anniversary and his early 70th birthday at Lake Tahoe. I began looking for a pet friendly vacation rental when I came upon Little Pine Lodge…STOP LOOKING! In addition, gorgeous lake views, only one flight of stairs, and a garage that our truck actually fit in! Done deal! When we arrived our jaws dropped….this place is awesome…an enormous picture window in the living room that framed the lake view; a super-clean, well-stocked home; beautiful interior and exterior; great kitchen with walk-out to the deck which also overlooks the lake; and all with easy access to all the amenities in the surrounding towns. I must admit that with all there is to do in the Lake Tahoe area, we spent most of our time simply enjoying our 2 week stay at this home with its amazing views and comfort. This is absolutely the BEST vacation rental we have ever stayed in. We hope to return in the near future!

BEST EVER

  • 5 of 5
We spent a week at Little Pine Lodge. It is the 1st time that I have ever found the actual house even more pleasant, well stocked and inviting than the pictures and description. I will recommend this to everyone I know that is going to Tahoe.

WE LOVED LITTLE PINE LODGE

  • 5 of 5
First off, you can't beat Lake Tahoe in the fall. The colors, nobody there and the weather are all super good reasons to make Tahoe a fall destination. And then there is Little Pine Lodge. You have beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains from virtually every window. It is perfectly located, just minutes from Incline Village and Kings Beach. The house is beautiful and plenty big. The drawers and cupboards are fully stocked, allowing you to take full advantage of the spacious kitchen! We were sad to leave after 4 short days and look forward to some day returning (with kids in tow!). Thank you Steve and Sally for opening your home to us!!

Owner's Response: It's our pleasure, Gina. We feel the same way about fall at Lake Tahoe. When you get into late October, November and early December the place is so peaceful and beautiful...and you can just drop into your favorite restaurant and they seat you immediately & treat you like royalty!

SPACIOUS HOME NEAR LAKE

  • 5 of 5
I would certainly recommend this house to family and friends. The owner is very friendly and cooperative. The house has beautiful views of the lake from almost every room and is just one block from the shoreline. It is better appointed and better furnished than many rentals I have taken. It is convenient to many restaurants and activities as it is located between King's Beach and Incline Village.

TIP OF THE DAY: Renting a home with views of Lake Tahoe is well worth the small extra expense. Our home has spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Mountains. It will make every moment of your vacation magical...as you share coffee at sunrise or prepare lunch or relax peacefully in the living room you will glance up and there it is...beautiful, blue Lake Tahoe. This is what you traveled to see and it is right in front of you all day long. You will never regret renting a home with a view of the lake!

There is a endless number of things to see and do in the area. A drive around the like is a must. Tour books available at the house will describe points of interest...the natural wonders of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Mountains, the boathouse from Godfather II, Frank Sinatra's Cal-Neva Resort, Squaw Valley site of 1960 Winter Olympics, Sand Harbor and the giant casinos of South Lake Tahoe & Reno. Nearby attractions include the Donner Museum in Truckee, Historic Virginia City, Yosemite, and Carson City. There are more than 20 ski areas around Lake Tahoe and the area offers some of the world's best golf. There is plenty of night life and casino gambling, restaurants and live entertainment abound.

The weather is a big attraction. The sun shines here nearly 300 days per year and you can expect sunny, cool, dry conditions pretty much year round. Great for outdoor activities!
