  • Minimum Age Limit for Renters
Guestbook comments from the manager
Beautiful house in the middle of Reykjavik only a couple of minutes walk from the main street and bars and restaurant. Everything worked perfectly and we loved Roald's books: it certainly felt like home. He also has every cook book and kitchen appliance known to man.

There is non meter parking a few streets away so there's no need to use car parks.

Probably the best place to stay in Reykjavik (even though I've only stayed in one place).

Hello, my name is Roald Eyvindsson and Im from Iceland. For the past six years I´ve worked as a journalist and at the moment I´m writing a book. Am into arts, travel, excercise and GOOD FOOD :).

I've always dreamt of living in an old house in Reykjavik's city center - close to all the buzz. But at the same time I wanted a comfortable place to retreat to. I finally got my change when I found an old off street house, in an increasingly popular and vibrant area, and decided to buy and renovate it to meet modern standards. And now I'm a proud owner of my own little paradise.

The style, old age and history of the house made me fall in love with it. Not to mention the location, the neighbourhood is just great with all necessities and attractions close at hand.Of course the house has two balcanies, where I love to drink coffee in the summer.

FANTASTIC PLACE!!!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed here for almost 2 weeks, and we could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Walking distance to all in-town locales, but in a VERY quiet area. The house is perfectly furnished with anything you might hope to find in a rental. Roald is a great host, attentive, informative, but gives you your privacy. We rented a car for part of our visit and had no problem finding parking (and it's all free between 6pm and 10am). I am a chef and I LOVED the kitchen! Would definitely recommend staying here!!

GREAT EXPERIENCE IN REYKJAVÍK

  • 5 of 5
I'm sure that me and my friends rented the most cute house in Reykjavik downtown. It was a great surprise, not just because the house was much better than the pictures, but because Roald was a great host for the house and for the city. I was a little worried about the check in process, but it was really simple. Great location, near to bars and restaurants, but far enought for a very good night of sleep. Highly recommended.

EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR YOUR STAY IN REYKJAVIK!

  • 5 of 5
This was a great place to stay for our trip to Reykjavik. It was cosy, had all the comforts you could hope for, it was clean and it was very central.
Roald was readily available to help us with any of our needs. He also provided great recommendations of things to see, things to do and places to eat and hang out in.
We highly recommend this property to anyone who is considering some time in Iceland. You will not be disappointed!

WONDERFUL HOME IN PERFECT LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
We could not have been more pleased with the home. The location is simply perfect as the property is within walking distance of the best Reykjavik has to offer. We had a rental car and parking was easy to find close to the home, on the street. The owner is very accommodating and responds to email promptly. The home is well appointed with high end appliances and quality furniture. The home is in immaculate condition and very clean. I would recommend the home to anyone without hesitation.

FANTASTIC HOUSE IN DOWNTOWN REYKJAVIK

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I, with our son aged 14, stayed in the house for 5 nights this summer. We strongly recommend this house with it's lovely features in the midst of it all! The owner helped us with all of our needs in the most perfect way! The upstairs bed is fantastic, and he had already made the sofa-bed for our son for our late arrival. When we wanted to know where to buy black mussels, he even made phone calls to different places finding out who had it in store!

Owner's Response: I really enjoyed having Trond, Hakon and Birgitte at my house, they were very nice, tatcful, easy going and made sure to treat everything with the utmost respect. Last but not least all rules were followed. And it's always an extra bonus when people show that they are thankfull. They're certainly welcome to stay again whenever in Iceland :)
