Awesome view but needs maintenance...really!

Rating Details:

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.

I was very happy with the location.

The vacation rental was very clean.

The property manager was somewhat unhelpful.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

You can't beat the view and, if that's the only thing that matters, then you will probably be happy here. B105 is advertised as 352290 on VRBO. We arrived on Christmas Eve to find the sliding glass door screens off the runners and just laying against the windows. We called three DIFFERENT people at the three DIFFERENT numbers provided and have yet to receive a call back. We never received a call back. I managed to secure one screen with, I kid you not, band aids! As long as we didn't touch the screen we were OK but locking the sliding doors with one screen taped up with band aids was annoying. The refrigerator compressor is on it's last legs and the whirring and wheezing of the motor make it unpleasant to hang out in the living room. It's that noticeable. It would nice to have some amenities--we did not get the promised starter laundry soap and I don't think it would break the bank to provide more than one box Kleenex for 4 people and another bar of bath soap. Finally, there were no instructions on how to use the TV/DVD/Cable remote. After much searching around the back of the TV with a flashlight, we figured out that the owner provides only ONE HDMI cable. So, if you want to watch a DVD, you must unplug the HDMI and move it to the appropriate box. Again, I think it's reasonable to expect another HDMI cable so guests don't have to mess around with the cables/jacks. I honestly don't know how they can claim there are enough beds for 6 people. There were two double beds (one in each bedroom) and one day bed in the living room. I wish we had known the bedding arrangement ahead of time as the person sleeping in the living room had zero privacy. Lastly, there are live termites living in one of the kitchen utensil drawers, ant traps everywhere, a dead roach and mice. We have video of the mouse running around in our kitchen

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Unit does sleep 6, it has 2 queen beds, a day bed and trundle. We knew that laundry soap was out (per our cleaners) and laundry pods delivered to unit. And we were not aware of sliding door being off track. If we did we would have had a repair man fix asap and also would have delivered another HD cable. Pest issues will be addressed asap. Guest did inquire to cancel booking weeks prior to arrival and it would have been a complete forfeiture.

The condo B105 at Mauna Lani Point was very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Beach club was great and the snorkeling from the shore excellent. I will be back in the spring and try to reserve B105 again.

Beautiful. Sat on lanai nearly every night and watched the sunset. Only issue was masterbed room was technically open to living area. There is a door, but only a bamboo curtain to give privacy in the "window' opening between TV-living room and bedroom wall.

We have stayed at Mauna Lani Point frequently and know our favorite view orientation. B105 is very well located and has that special view. Sadly, the owners have neglected it. Like a restaurant getting by with mediocre food knowing that a killer view will provide cover, B105 is badly in need of new fabrics and carpet. It is tired and dark--and that's a shame! That the master bedroom is "open" to the living room is simply astounding. Who makes that kind of choice?
