The second bedroom is at the other end of the house and has two single beds, drawers, a chair, mirror and a ceiling fan for extra comfort. Both bedrooms have sisal carpeting.
The third bedroom is at the mezzanine level which has a single rollout bed, that makes up a king if placed together or two single beds. Chairs, sea chest, desk and table, roller blinds, and a ceiling fan furnish the room. The flooring is wooden with a carpet square.
An en-suite, consisting of a shower, toilet, vanity, heated towel rails is at this level.
Shower, hand soap, toilet paper and a hair drier are provided.
The living area at this Wharekaho (Simpsons Beach) accommodation has wonderful sea and bush views and consists of comfortable furnishings. A TV, CD player, DVD player provide entertainment if needed. A transfer heat system operates from the mezzanine area, and built in thermostatically controlled electric heaters give additional heat when required in the living and dining areas.
The dining area has a large wooden table that seats up to eight people.
Original art work hangs throughout the house.
The modern kitchen has stainless steel benches, stainless electric hobs, an oven, range-hood, fridge/freezer, microwave, an integrated single dish drawer, electric jug, coffee plunger, toaster, sandwich maker, kitchen whiz, electric beaters, baking scales and all the usual pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware.
Coffee, tea, sugar, foil, gladwrap, baking paper, paper towels, rubbish bags and oil for the barbecue are provided.
The kitchen has wonderful sea views and overlooks the dining area. The kitchen has a rain sensitive electric skylight. The kitchen, bathroom and toilet all have underfloor heated tiles.
A cupboard containing the washing machine is in the kitchen. A tub is outside the backdoor. Soap powder is provided.
In the bathroom quests can enjoy a bath looking out towards the huge pohutukawa tree. A shower, vanity, and heated towel rails finish the room. Shower,hand soap, toilet paper and a hair drier are provided.
A wooden table and 6 deck chairs are on the deck. Also an umbrella for when shade is needed. The gas barbecue is situated off the kitchen in a small outdoor area near the kitchen herb garden.
A one bedroom self contained flat is downstairs which is listed separately as 'Little Pohutukawa Bach' (ID 1187). Combined, the house and flat has a total of 4 bedrooms, three bathrooms and sleeps 6 people upstairs and can sleep up to a further 4 downstairs. You would need to book each property separately. No smoking is permitted inside or outside the house. We wish to ensure the safety of the bush reserve.
This house is not suitable for young children. Being on a steep section with no fencing because the driveway runs through the reserve.
