This modern home, designed by James D. LaRue (a well known high profile Austin architect) has a 5 star Green Building Rating. The location is as central they come, just a hop, skip and a jump from downtown, lake Austin and the University of Texas. You are in historic BrykerWoods, a beautiful neighborhood walking distance to the Shoal Creek Green Belt trail, Bailey park, retail shops and great restaurants such as Olive & June, Kerby Lane and more. The natural environment of the neighborhood is one of its greatest assets. Within the neighborhood, mature trees line the streets, providing shade for the houses. The BrykerWoods neighborhood is also located in a part of Austin where there is a tremendous diversity of running routes. There is a direct bus route that connects the neighborhood with the downtown district.

The high end kitchen includes a Wolf stove/oven, subzero fridge, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, striking concrete counters with three bar stools…..plenty of room for gourmet chefs. The kitchen is completely open, flanked by the living room, dining room and a cozy reading room with a full spare bathroom. A large sliding glass door opens to the back patio which is a prime spot for gathering and entertaining. It boasts two large pecan trees, an outdoor fireplace, plasma TV, luxurious outdoor lounge furniture, water feature, barbeque pit and dining table for 6. Speakers for music are piped throughout house including outdoors along with Master Bedroom and Bath. Wireless internet is available along with cable television in the living and master bedroom.

Enter the large master bedroom through a secret electric door that is camouflaged in the wood veneer wall below the stair. The large master bedroom offers a king size Tempurpedic bed, flat screen television and blackout drapes. The spacious attached bathroom is equipped with a stand-up shower, two sinks and jacuzzi tub. Both upstairs bedrooms have attached full bathrooms, one with a full size bed and a fold out full size sofa bed in the other. For those that might want a quick indoor jog, a treadmill is available upstairs.

This house is very beautiful - it was spacious. The house was pretty clean - but outside it wasn't clean (the outside living area). We were very pleased to have the welcome basket when we arrived. It really only sleeps two couples at most. The smaller room upstairs is in a workout room and the bed is very uncomfortable. The owners, however are very nice and very responsive. It really is in a GREAT location and we were happy there. We would stay again if we are ever in Austin.
