The Crow’s Nest is a prominent traditional Maine summer home reminiscent of an earlier time located on seven acres of wooded coastline. The expansive front porch offers panoramic views of North Haven, the Thorofare (the deep water channel between North Haven and Vinalhaven) and the Maine Coast. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets can be seen from the front deck. Days can be spent relaxing, reading and watching the schooners pass through the Thorofare taking you back to another time. You are removed from everyday life and surrounded by nature, but are never far from comfort. A short walk takes you down to the floating docks where two kayaks are available to explore the shore and islands in the Thorofare. A guest mooring is available for your boat. There are 21 nature trails on Vinalhaven ---- many within easily walking distance. You can swim in the ocean (if you can brave the cool water) or swim the in the clear warm waters of the quarry. High-speed internet service is available if you “must” keep in touch or just want to share great photos of your Maine experience.
