Guestbook comments from the owner
We stayed at Quiet Pines in early spring and could not have had a more enjoyable stay. The house is beautiful -- it's both well appointed and well maintained. The property is wonderful; it's wooded, and the mature trees give a real sense of privacy. Best of all, our children loved playing in the yard and on the tree house/play equipment.

We loved lounging in the house. It has a great layout with the master and children's bedrooms upstairs, and an additional bedroom downstairs. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. Because it was cold when we stayed at the house, we didn't spend time on the screened in porch, but wished we could have. Like the rest of the house, it's beautifully furnished. It has both a full table and chairs and a separate seating area.

And, the location is fantastic. We were close to good restaurants, pristine beaches, and nice furniture and antique shops. During our stay we also explored neighboring towns and the Warren Dunes, all conveniently located to this property.

We have already booked a week in the summer and can't wait to get back to Quiet Pines.

Great Cottage for a Lake Michigan Getaway

  • 5 of 5
I stayed here in June 2013 with my wife, 3 kids, and mother-in-law. We had a great time, as we always do when we come to Michigan. The six of us were quite comfortable in the cottage. My favorite features were the wooded yard, the outdoor shower, and the charcoal Weber grill. The kids loved the hot tub, and the screened-in porch was a great place to read or play games.

The rental included bikes (one was a tandem), though the tires turned out to be flat, and we couldn't find a pump. I could have contacted Michelle about this, but it wasn't that important at the time.

Michelle was responsive when I called her with a question about TV service (there was no service, though there was a TV with a working DVD player). Normally I wouldn't care about TV during a Michigan trip, but this was the night the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup (we ended up watching at a restaurant).

The property was clean, and check-in and check-out couldn't have been simpler. Highly recommended.

Perfect for families!

  • 5 of 5
We spent three nights at Quiet Pines - 3 adults and 6 children ranging in ages from 3 to 11. The house was nicely appointed and very clean. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us. The screened in porch was perfect for family meals. We also enjoyed the fire pit for smores and hot dog roasts. We were also able to use the beach toys, chairs, etc. from the shed which made our excursions all the more enjoyable. The kids also loved the playhouse and slide located in the yard. The beach was close and it was great to come back and shower off in the outdoor shower before putting the kiddos to bed. We will definitely be back!

Great House with no surprises!

  • 5 of 5
The house was just what we were hoping for. Nice size rooms, great screen porch and deck, big yard, and room to breath. A quick ride to the beach, shops, etc. but a quite country retreat at the same time. We loved it!

House in the Pines

  • 4 of 5
This home was comfortable and spacious for my family of 5 plus Grandma made 6. There was plenty of room for sleeping and playing and relaxing. The screened porch and deck have comfortable seating and tables for resting your book and your drink. The screened porch has a great table for games or dining and even when it's raining you can feel like you're "outside". The yard and play area (especially the air pogo in the tree) were great for kids. Their kitchen has everything you need for simple meals. The outdoor shower is a super place to rinse off after the beach or before the hot tub. The upstairs of the house is more rustic than downstairs, with plywood walls, but the beds are comfortable and having two bathrooms on vacation was very nice.

Charming house - something for everyone!

  • 5 of 5
This is a perfect getaway house - for families, kids or good friends. There is something for everyone to be had at this charming house that is equipped with everything you might need for a vacation.

We went with our two kids for the weekend. They were immediately taken with the huge backyard and wonderful treehouse. My husband and I lounged on the deck and relaxed in the hammock while they played.

The shed had toys, bikes, kayaks and everything you'd need for a day at the beach. The bedrooms inside were comfortable and again, had anything you might need for a relaxing vacation. Toys and coloring stuff for the kids, a great book selection and music for the adults.

We loved our time at this property - convenient to beaches and restaurants - and will no doubt be back this summer!
