About Mike & Suzy

We built 'Cypress' in 1990 to raise our family. This family included children, parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents and even great grand parents! Cypress was the gathering place for many special social and family events over the years. Although it is too big for us now, friends and family simply will not let us part with it because of all the wonderful memories.

Mike & Suzy purchased this house in 1990
Why Mike & Suzy chose Reno

Cypress is within 5 to 10 minutes of everything in Reno without the heavy traffic and noise. The backyard is 'pie shaped' and opens to a private golf course.

What makes this house unique

Cypress was remodeled in the winter of 2012. This entailed all new furniture, bathrooms, carpets, linens, mattress & box springs, etc. You will literally be walking into a home which has not been lived in since the remodel. In addition, we remodeled this house with the idea that we would be staying here ourselves so there are full cooking facilities including an outdoor gas grill.

Two payments are requested via HomeAway with the first amount for the entire lodging and the second amount for the damage fee 15 days prior to arrival. The damage fee is refunded entirely with the exception of a small charge by Home Away (usually around $12).
Cypress is booked on a "first come, first served" basis. You are not officially booked until you make a payment. In addition, there are no refunds 90 days prior to arrival. Travelers insurance is a great idea and offered by HomeAway.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (USD) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Wonderful Time!

We have just arrived home after our trip to Reno and I just wanted to tell you how we loved our stay in your beautiful home. It really was lovely and very relaxing after our long drive. I think we spent most of our time outside in the garden and the sound of the pond and the frogs was lovely.
If I ever come to Reno again I will definitely try to stay at the Manor and would recommend it to anyone.

A Relaxing Place to Stay

My wife and I stayed at the manor with my parents, my in-laws and our two sons. The home is better than described on VRBO. I enjoy cooking and the Viking cooking range and oven was home away from home for me. The is in excellent condition, very well maintained. The location is very peaceful and the backyard backs a very nice golf course which allowed and open space view of the surrounding mountains. I have already recommended this place to family and friends. If we find ourselves back in the Reno area we will stay here again.

Great Weekend With Family

Dear Suzy & Mike,
I just had to email you after our extended weekend in your family home. The home is very beautiful! The pictures don't do it justice. We made plans to travel into Reno or some of the other areas around the area and after arriving at the house, everyone decided we would stay there for the rest of the day and eve.
We barbequed and ate as a whole family for the first time in years. As I am sure you have experienced, once the kids are adults, it is hard to get them all together at the same time.
The house was immaculate....we tried to leave it that way too. Being the first ones to use the house after the remodel, we wanted to set a good example. LOL!
I just love your choices of decor and furnishings. My kids said they were staying in a mansion. LOL
We would love to take the opportunity again in the future and I will be telling/sharing with all my nurse friends at the hospital. A huge thank you for making our stay so memorable and fun.

Beautiful Cypress Manor!

We have stayed in a lot of properties over the years and "Cypress" will rate up there with the best. Everything was brand new and clean! The best part was being able to stay in a quiet neighborhood and yet being within 5 to 10 minutes everything Reno has to offer. We had a family gathering and nobody wanted to leave! Highly recommend this house!
