Wonderful, traditional and comfortable old family home overlooking Eel Pond on Starbuck's Neck in Edgartown. Fabulous in-town location, just steps away from beautiful, outer-harbor swimming beaches and a short stroll to downtown Edgartown. Tucked away at the end of perhaps the loveliest street on the Vineyard, this peaceful, secluded compound offers ample outdoor space, a wide, rolling front lawn, and expansive water views across Sheriff's Meadow. The main house has three bedrooms, with magnificent pond and ocean water views from master bedroom. The guest house, annexed by a breezeway, features a kitchenette, playroom, and a 2nd floor bunkroom with private bath. Well suited for families with children.There is no A/C but most always a breeze across the meadow and there are fans in all the bedrooms. The best shower is the outdoor shower. Public town landing at Eel Pond.

About The Owner

I am the very lucky daughter of parents who bought this house in the late 70's. My sisters and I ....and now my children....and all of our friends grew up spending summers and holidays here. I now have the privilege of maintaining our family home and introducing this quiet corner of Edgartown to new families.

The Owner purchased this house in 1979
Why The Owner chose Edgartown

My parents bought this house in 1979 after waiting for years for it to become available.

It is next door to one of my mother's childhood friends, close to the EYC tennis courts where my mother spent her days and the Edgartown Yacht Club & harbor where my father spent his.

What makes this house unique

This house is walking distance from down town Edgartown but totally private with a huge yard and lovely views.

Had a great time last summer

This was a wonderful house for a family(or two families) to enjoy all that Edgartown and the Vineyard has to offer. It really is as advertised where it is off the beaten path but you can walk to town. Quita helped coordinate the rental and could not of been more friendly and helpful. I can truly now call her a friend!

For my family it was a wonderful home base to explore or simply cook out and relax. I enjoyed getting up in the morning and walking straight to the beach, the lighthouse, and then into town before the hustle and bustle of the day started. We were there during the 4th of July and it was a fantastic experience. I feel very lucky to of come back to the vineyard and showed my family what makes it so special. It this particualr case it was possible to come home again!

A Perfect Slice on New England

When my wife and I were looking for a getaway that included everything we loved about New England, this trip and house certainly delivered all! Just from the experience of the Ferry coming into Edgartown and seeing exactly where we would be staying was amazing. The house is postcard perfect from inside out. The inside had all the amenities that helped with kids and their gizmos to everything us adults needed. The bedrooms are certainly designed for a new england setting and felt like a cozy home.
We loved walking to the lighthouse and being surrounded by the history of the island with such an amazing view.

Owner's Response: The Pied Piper is the ideal way to get to Edgartown! As long as you have wheely luggage it is a lovely walk to the house past the Harborview. Who needs a car!
My family has lived there for so many summers that we have accumulated most of the necessities for every age child. I like the timeless quality of the little wooden table and chairs in kitchen. I have great pictures of my mother sitting with my children as they eat their breakfast.
It truly is a cozy family summer home.

My daughter and I have visited this house for years. She loves the outdoor shower and I love the cozy New England charm of the main house and eating dinners around the dining room table with the windows thrown open to catch the ocean breeze. Having the bunk house means that the children can have the adventure of their "own" house, while the adults enjoy a more sophisticated atmosphere. The convenience of being able to walk or ride bikes through Edgartown's jammed streets, even to the grocery store or South Beach, is immeasurable. The photos look just like the actual property and the owner was extremely helpful answering all of our questions. I know whoever rents this property will start their own fond memories, just like we have.

Had thee most relaxing week ever at this lovely place. Arrived to a very CLEAN (important to me) house. Everything we needed was there, we were close to everything (we walked everywhere) and loved coming back to the quiet house in the evenings. Some nights we stayed in and cooked - others we walked to restaurants. We were told about his place from friends who had rented it & they assured us we would love it. They were right - we did. Would recommend highly.

My family and I have returned summer after summer to this fantastic property. It is in-town Edgartown - walking distance (even for young children) to all downtown retaurants and amenities, the Pied Piper ferry, the Chappy ferry, and a selection of beaches - however it also has significant open acreage, borders conservation land, and overlooks the ocean, so there is privacy and space to roam. Highly recommended for the perfect island vacation.
