A nature lover's dream....
The large windows of this rustic home look out on the San Francisco Bay and the trails of Mount Tam are literally right out your door. It's hard to believe that San Francisco is a mere 14 miles away when you wake up to deer in the garden and the smell of pine.
There's a large patio surrounding the property from which to enjoy the ever-changing vistas of San Francisco and Mt. Tam . And despite the mountain setting, it's only a mile drive down to the quaint Mill Valley town square.
This cozy artist's retreat is located at the head of a hiking trail which will take you as far as Stinson Beach (if you've got the energy) or as close as the little stream about half mile down the fire trail.
A large fireplace, terrazzo floors, eclectic antiques and interesting old books... It is very much a retreat whether you want to stay put & relax, sail or mountain bike, experience small town life in Mill valley or explore the many sights in San Francisco.
Sleeping: 2 bedrooms (1 king + 1 queen)
Fully Equipped kitchen
Washer / Dryer
Ample parking (rare in this neighborhood)
This quiet, mountain-side retreat couldn't be more enchanting. The original 50's vibe and authentic vintage decor makes this cozy home so welcoming. The hills are filled with trails that wander from the backyard up thru redwoods and over creeks to the breathtaking views of the bay and ocean. Such a relaxing and peaceful environment, perfect when it's time to recharge. There's something special for each and everyone in the family to appreciate. Thank you so much for opening your family's home, so we could enjoy a little slice of paradise. We will be back!
The pictures of this property cannot do the actual experience of this home justice. It's a gem of a place. I was surprised and delighted from the moment we arrived in the driveway. Wow!
We had an absolutely perfect stay at Ursula's mountain home.
There was everything we could possibly need for our stay, and the views were fabulous. The location in Mill Valley could not be better. The property was very clean and well maintained, and there were fresh flowers in the kitchen when we arrived. All the rooms had beautiful, antiique furniture and there were ample books and games for the kids. We have friends in Mill Valley and we have recommended this property to them to have their family/friends stay when visiting them. For activities in MIll Valley: Try hiking the trails surrounding this property and all the great restaurants. We especially liked the Indian restaurant in town that is now under new management. Thanks again to Ursula and Susan for all of their assistance and for providing a great property. WE will be back!
First off, you cannot understate the views. You are able to gaze upon the beautiful SF Bay, which at night is nothing short of spectacular, while enjoying the privacy and serenity of a mountain getaway. There are breathtaking views at every turn on the grounds which feature several relaxing lounging areas and a hiking path taking you up further into Mt. Tam. The house has a great vibe for both family and fun. They've done a great job of retaining it's original charm while modernizing where we are accustomed. The kids spent hours exploring the yard giving us some much needed alone time. We would highly recommend this property to anyone hoping to get a full slice of Mill Valley life.
Excellent location, beautiful setting, a wonderful blend of both worlds. literally minutes from San Francisco and a relaxing drive to wine country, without being overrun by the crowds. Perfect for two couples or a small family. The only problem is you will be tempted to not leave the property and enjoy all the wonderful experiences so close by. I would definitely recommend and would stay there again.
First, there are the views... Really incredible from the yard, kitchen and dining area. The house 1960s-ish not updated but clean and very comfortable and we really enjoyed to feel of the house. There are also the hummingbirds. The location was terrific. It is actually on Mount Tamalpais, a few minutes to Muir Woods and other areas for hiking and recreation. Also very easy access to the bridge and the city and everything else. We hope to visit again. I recommend for anyone.
Bike Trails, Muir Words, Stinson Beach, Great cafe's and restaurants right in downtown Mill Valley.
