The Perfect Relaxing Getaway

This beach house has anything and everything you could possibly need or want for a great relaxing vacation:
- fantastic location,
- a breathtaking sweeping view,
- and all the comforts (plus more) of home (including a gourmet equipped kitchen, luxury bedding and towels, and all the little things you forget when getting away (spices and oils for cooking, soap and shampoo, music docking station, a good magazine, etc). We are a family with young children and babies and all baby equipment was provided for our use, which was very convenient.
The property manager was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable with any questions and or concerns.
We most definitely plan on returning for another stay!

Awesome House, Location and Hospitality

We have rented homes for many years and this is by far the nicest and best equipped house we have ever rented. The location is amazing and the house comes with kayaks and bikes to explore the area. Our children (ages 15, 13 and 11) used the kayaks everyday to explore the islands in front of the house. They paddled out to the islands with no difficulties and were able to see the seals sunbathing and explore 'starfish alley'. The seals would even follow them home afterwards!

The house is extremely well equipped with everything you will need. The products provided are of great quality and not the cheap variety that many rentals provide. Su is an amazing hostess. She communicated with us before, during and after our stay to make sure all of our needs were met. She definitely knows how to make you feel at home.

If you are looking for an amazing house in the Nanaimo area, look no further than this one!

We should have stayed longer

We rented Seaview for five nights and wished it had been longer. We were four adults, one child and two large dogs. The layout is perfect and the amenities are definitely some of the best we have ever experienced. The location is excellent, with all the major retail therapy outlets very close by.
We were particularly impressed with the condition of the property and all the little touches which made it such a wonderful experience. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. One of my first clues to a great place is one where the kitchen has knives that actually are sharp. Small detail but indicative of the care and thought which has gone into the preparation of the unit.
Great balcony for watching the comings and goings of Departure Bay traffic including the ferries, seaplanes and private pleasure craft. We made full use of the barbeque and enjoyed eating most of our meals on the deck. The rates are very competitive for the location and size of the property but in our opinion certainly one of the best for value for money we have experienced. We have no hesitation in recommending this property. One of the bonuses for our visiting English guests was the small herd of deer that appeared on the beach one morning. We just loved the whole experience!

A Truly Unique Westcoast Experience

We rented Seaview for 3 months (Januray through March 2014) to escape the cold weather of winter and from the moment we walked in the front door we felt totally at home. The house and surrounding yard are simply lovely and beautifully maintained and with Seaview's awesome location we had everything we needed to be completely comfortable. But we quickly discovered that the best things about living at Seaview all really start with Su, the property manager. Her fantastic "red binder" is full of recommendations about where to shop, restuarants to visit and points of interest and parks to explore. Her attention to detail is truly amazing and it was all these details that made our our stay so very enjoyable and allowed us to easily entertain our family and friends at our home away from home.

Seaview sits right down on the shores of Departure Bay and in addition to this very central location which allows for wonderfully quick and easy access to everything in and around Nanaimo, every day you can enjoy the spectacular views from either inside the house or sitting outside on the beautiful and expansive deck. The Bay is the focal point for all who live in Nanaimo and suffice it to say that there is always something going on in the Bay to watch and enjoy - from the ferries and sailboats to the soaring eagles and little river otters and of course the constant and soothing sound of the ocean waves breaking against the shoreline as the tides move in and out. Nothing quite matches having a morning coffee on the deck while enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of the Bay.

Seaview quickly became and remains a very special place for us and for our family. In fact before leaving in early April we made arrangements to return again in 2015 which we think says a whole lot about what Seaview means to us. It was our sincere pleasure to have stayed at Seaview and we know it will be yours as well.

Perfect Family Holiday!

This house was perfect for our family to come for the holidays. Su and her team were so very accommodating for us with the check-in activities and we even had a Christmas tree set-up upon our arrival. This was much appreciated especially after such a long trip to get there. The house was immaculate and perfect for the five of us. It was in a great location for the kids to be able to play outside and end their day riding their scooters to get a slurpee at 7-eleven. The location was perfect. We have stayed in two other homes in the Nanaimo area and this was by far the nicest and the one we expect to come back to on our next visit. It is close to all necessary shopping, movie theatres and Su even helped us find a nice nature trail in the area to do some outdoor walking. Anyone thinking of renting this home should do so as you will not be disappointed. Thank you Su (and team) for a memorable holiday getaway!

An Ideal Mid-Island Location

Departure Bay is a mere 1.5 kilometers from shopping and dining with a number of restaurants within walking distance of the house. Nanaimo is a thriving community of parks, beaches, charming eclectic shops, waterfront walks, marinas and myriad dining choices from fine to casual, plus all the modern convenience needed for an enjoyable stay. These include grocery stores, gas stations, libraries, theatres, restaurants and delis, specialty food shops, spas, doctors and dentists, massage therapists and beauty salons.

The city of Nanaimo sits mid-Island and is a central arrival and departure point for BC Ferries to the BC Mainland. There is also an airport , or you can come and go via seaplane (Harbour Air, Seair Seaplanes or Westcoast Air) into Nanaimo Harbour from downtown Vancouver or Vancouver International Airport. The seaplane trip is only 20 minutes!

The TransCanada Highway (Hwy #1) runs directly through the heart of Nanaimo. From here you can venture north to Mount Washington, Courtenay and Comox, west to Tofino or south to the Cowichan Valley and Victoria. Please see below for links to information about the area:
