Very high ceilings, lots of character with stained glass, tall windows with great views of downtown Cincinnati. Located at the top of Liberty Hill in a beautiful neighborhood with San Francisco type charm. Walk down the hill to the new Horseshoe Casino or a short walk to the nearby Main Street Entertainment District.
Bus stop right outside the home can take you anywhere downtown and the home is very accessible to interstate 71 to Xavier University, Kings Island, and Hyde Park. Watch Reds Friday night fireworks from the porch.
Sleeping arrangements are as follows:
1st floor bedroom - queen sized bed
Basement bedroom - king sized bed
Living room - pull-out couch to a queen sized bed
Common area - single pull-out
We currently live in the Cincinnati area, a few short minutes from this home. We enjoy the city and have found this home to be a great way to access all that Cincinnati has to offer.
Darrin Murriner purchased this condo in 2013
Great location and great views! It has some amazing features that can make a stay in Cincinnati feel like an amazing experience.
Location is the primary benefit. Very easy access to all that downtown has to offer and very easy access to all major freeways in the event you are planning a trip to Kings Island, sports tournaments in surrounding neighborhoods, or weddings / family events that take you away from downtown. We offer bicycles to get you around downtown even easier.
Great views, awesome location, very spacious for our bridal party preparations. This place was perfect for a girls weekend and the bride loved it. Our only complaint was that we ran out of hand soap.
Came to Cincinnati for our annual baseball trip and decided to go a house route rather than hotel... it was a great decision. Correspondence with owner was fantastic and the flexibility of adding an additional day as we got closer to the trip helped us out a lot. House was large enough for 7 of us with a little rearrangement for air mattresses. Kitchen was adequate for the minimal cooking we did and the full size refrigerator was key. We had a mishap with the AC and once we discovered the issue and reported it to the owner he was ultra responsive and had us equipped with fans the same day. Location is great with a bus stop right outside, but if you decide to walk anywhere like we did travel in a pack and you will be fine.
My husband I, along with my sister, all enjoyed our stay in this 19th century townhouse with very cute updates. The location was very convenient midpoint to all our activities. Mostly we were in Cincinnati to go to Kings Island, but we also attended a couple of concerts at Riverbend, went to the zoo, and visited the Hofbrauhaus. The design of the stairwell leading to the basement and the colors in the kitchen were particularly to my liking. My husband and I loved the privacy and cooler temperatures that staying in the basement bedroom, or "The Dungeon" as he called it, afforded us after already spending several days of our vacation in a smaller condo near Cedar Point.
The place could use a few more "loving touches" to make it a truly posh environment -- i.e. things that only matter to us higher-maintenance ladies -- but overall, the bedding and décor was very nice. We will definitely be looking this one up again next time we visit Cincinnati.
This downtown home is in a great location. We enjoyed a morning walk to the trendy area on Vine street. We also loved the morning sun coming in the kitchen windows in the mornings. The kitchen was well furnished for cooking meals and had everything we needed. The information provided by the owner before arrival was very informative and accurate. We stayed for a romantic weekend during my husbands visit home during his deployment. This condo has cute updates and was very clean. I would definitely recommend this property. There were 2 bikes and a small a grill provided for renters that made it feel even more like home.
This house was perfect for our stay. It was even better than what we had pictured, with nice spacious rooms and enough space for all 7 of us. The decorations were cute and we enjoyed being a very short drive from everything in Cincinnati. I would highly recommend this place and would love to stay there again. The only problem is we weren't there long enough to take full advantage of the sauna!
It was great! We had a girls weekend and it was perfect! We enjoyed great conversation in the comfortable front room. We had a massage therapist come in and she set up in the back bedroom. The kitchen has all that we needed, plenty of wine glasses :) We all slept over and everyone was very comfortable. What a delightful home.
The location was unique, but it was very safe and I parked my car right on the street.
I will definitely return. Thanks owners for sharing your home!!
My wife and I recently stayed at this VRBO for a week of pleasure and business. We traveled with our 2 children, ages 4 and 2. Upon arrival, we noticed a dampness throughout the entire house. The damp environment is from the basement. Fortunately, nobody in our party had to sleep in the basement. My suggestion, a couple dehumidifiers should do the trick and help tremendously.
Next, I was prepared to cook dinner for my family when I discovered the lack of kitchen utensils. If I recollect, the VRBO listing references a "well stocked" or supplied kitchen. I certainly beg to differ unless one considers well equipped to consist of 4 bowls, plates, forks, spoons, etc. One bowl of which was cracked and the other had dried food on it and was very difficult to clean. In regards to cooking utensils, we were provided with a rubber spatula and a plastic spatula. That was it! The owner was kind to bring us a wooden spoon, a slotted spoon, and an additional plastic spatula. This helped but I suggest an increase in kitchen utensils and dishes. Oh, and we did find a large chefs knife stashed under the bed in the master bedroom. Fortunately our children understand what knives are and we didn't have an accident.
A few other complaints, lack of off street parking at times. I was advised that I could park on street but on street was also unavailable due to nearby construction. Loud music through late hours from tenants upstairs. Tenants allow their dog to crap in courtyard and this was not pleasant, especially in the summer heat. The house is very damp throughout. Half of the light switches fail to work throughout the house.
Overall, a wonderful and convenient location but not the stay that we had hoped for. I will add that the owner is prompt to respond to any complaints or issues. As referenced in the Review Title, this unit has potential but some additional work is needed. I can tell this was a recent purchase converted to a rental and a bit more time and energy will provide a wonderful stay for future guests. This is why I rate this rental as "fair".
The entertainment and recreational opportunities are nearly limitless. Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Art Museum, Contemporary Art Museum, Newport Aquarium, Great American Ballpark, Paul Brown Stadium, the OTR Gateway Quarter, Mount Adams are just a few of the things that you have easy access to with a short walk or with the bikes provided in the rental
