Colchester Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom camp (cottage) with view of sheltered bay on Lake Champlain.

Relive those lazy days of yesteryear by the lake! This cozy 3-bedroom 1-bath seasonal camp on Malletts Bay holds all the charm and character of days gone by while including the comforts of home. Relax and watch the boats go by from the screened-in porch or take a dip in the lake off the private raft. The raft is also perfect for fishing or sunning. Blue Camp can sleep up to 8 (counting the sofa sleeper), although some guests enjoy sleeping on the screened porch for more of an outdoor experience. Limited dock space and mooring is also available for guests that want to bring their boat along. Fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room with wood-stove for those cool nights. Quiet location is on a dead end dirt road within walking distance from the general store. For lakeside or Church Street dining, Burlington is accessible by bike (30-45 min on the community bike path), boat, or automobile (15 min). For the more adventurous, several zip lines are within 90 minutes and various restaurants are available on the NY side of Lake Champlain which can be crossed with your boat or by ferry. Bikes (4), a canoe and small row boat are included. Other attractions include hiking trails, mountain climbing, museums, wineries, boat tours,drive-in theatre and more.

A wonderful week at The Blue Camp

A perfect week on Lake Champlain! The Blue Camp was as described, and more: a clean, well maintained old-style cabin with a wide screened-in porch to take advantage of the best view in the area, everything included except our food, bikes and kayaks to take advantage of the water and the bike path, close to restaurants (found a great new vegan restaurant in Burlington), and a fabulous view of the Lake thrown in for good measure! John rates 5 stars for his thoughtful attention to every detail, and his great customer service. We had family visit us while we were there, and we are all in agreement that the Blue Camp is a fabulous find, and are making plans to return in the future! Thanks, John!

The Blue Camp was a very charming place to spend the week of our daughter's college graduation. Our extended family of 9 spent the first three days there and totally enjoyed the quaint cabin which has been restored impeccably and has all of the most modern amenities. It is a perfect blend of the simplicity of a historical cabin and the new technology provided for comfort. We arrived at the cabin at 2 AM and woke to the most beautiful sunrise over the bay. We hosted a graduation party for our daughter's friends and their families in the large yard on the bayside and everyone had a relaxing and fun time. The large garage below provides a place for a ping pong table. A canoe and row boat added fun to the time we had there and we even gathered around the wood burning stove one rainy evening. We especially enjoyed the full screened in back porch facing the water which provided extra living space for the grandkiddies and great views of the bay. The surrounding Lake Champlain area is full of beautiful vistas and places to visit. Our host was most accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. We will always remember this special time of celebration for our family and are so happy to have shared it at the Blue Camp cabin. We recommend this property for anyone who would like to spend time in a simply peaceful, beautiful, and historic place.

Sunset Drive-In Theatre is 2 miles away. Lake Champlain is the largest freshwater lake in the United States outside of the Great Lakes and has many picturesque islands and coves to explore. The Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York offer many hiking trails and scenic drives. With all of its natural beauty, low population density (second least populated state after Wyoming), and opportunities to experience the outdoors, Vermont is a popular destination spot for tourists (tourism is Vermont's largest industry).
