Colchester Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom camp (cottage) with view of sheltered bay on Lake Champlain.

Relive those lazy days of yesteryear by the lake! This cozy 3-bedroom 1-bath seasonal camp on Malletts Bay holds all the charm and character of days gone by while including the comforts of home. Relax and watch the boats go by from the screened-in porch or take a dip in the lake off the private raft. The raft is also perfect for fishing or sunning. Blue Camp can sleep up to 8 (counting the sofa sleeper), although some guests enjoy sleeping on the screened porch for more of an outdoor experience. Limited dock space and mooring is also available for guests that want to bring their boat along. Fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room with wood-stove for those cool nights. Quiet location is on a dead end dirt road within walking distance from the general store. For lakeside or Church Street dining, Burlington is accessible by bike (30-45 min on the community bike path), boat, or automobile (15 min). For the more adventurous, several zip lines are within 90 minutes and various restaurants are available on the NY side of Lake Champlain which can be crossed with your boat or by ferry. Bikes (4), a canoe and small row boat are included. Other attractions include hiking trails, mountain climbing, museums, wineries, boat tours,drive-in theatre and more.

Great week at the Blue Camp

  • 5 of 5
We had an awesome week at the Blue Camp. The property was clean and well maintained; exceeding our expectations. John provided everything you could possibly need for a great week on the lake (kayaks, bikes, paddle board, dock available for a boat). I would definitely recommend to a friend or relative... looking forward to returning next year.

MAJESTIC LAKE CHAMPLAIN VIEW!

  • 5 of 5
We fell in love with Blue Camp the second we walked in the door. From the incredible view of the lake, to the kayaks, bikes, paddle board, ping pong, and the huge screened-in porch, we couldn't have been happier. Blue Camp comes ready to go, virtually everything you'd need to have a stress-free, lake front vacation is provided. The view is so astounding, you'll be compelled to sleep on the porch just to wake up with the sun coming up over the lake and the mountains. The owner, John, is a wonderful host and responsive to any of your needs. The dock access is a huge plus for those with boats, we have family with boats and they were able to pick us up and drop us off right from the dock throughout our week long stay. There's a cute bagel shop, pizza, creemee parlor, and a convenience store about a half mile away. If you wanna go out for great food or nightlife, Burlington is about 15 minutes in a car or $12 for a cab. We give Blue Camp and A+ and can't wait to get back next summer!

Wonderful, comfortable property.

  • 5 of 5
Well equipped lake cabin, comfortable and close to everything. Bikes for biking the Champlain Bike Path, and kayaks for enjoying Mallett's Bay. Burlington is close by with wonderful restaurants, and general exploring and shopping. Fabulous porch from which to watch boat activity, watch the sunrise with your first cup of coffee, or just sit and read. Thank you, John!

Wonderful Vacation!

  • 5 of 5
Our stay at Blue Camp was wonderful. Plenty to do, kayaking, trails, great places to eat locally - Burlington is a 10 minute drive. In fact we had a many touristy things planned however we found it difficult to leave the property as it was so beautiful and peaceful. Quiet, residential setting with a nice big lawn which was great for our 2 year old! Definitely recommend this home for anyone looking for a nice, calm getaway!!

Memorable Vermont VAcation!

  • 5 of 5
The property is accurately described, well maintained and stocked with essentials that were much appreciated upon arrival - tp, paper towels, soap, garbage bags...

John came over and introduced himself the first day to see if we needed anything and immediately took care of our requested for more lounge chairs. We were able to view every sunrise and sun set (even a double rainbow) out on the lawn.

I'm delighted that I selected the Blue Camp to rendezvous with old Vermont buddies during the week of our 35th college reunion. It is just a few minutes drive to downtown Burlington and St. Mike's. Burlington has sunk a ton of money into their bike trail system and we were able to use bikes that came with the rental to ride out to the Causeway one day and into Burlington a few times.

We were there the first week of June, so sadly, the water was too cold to use the paddle board or kayaks that were available.

I would most definitely recommend this property to a friend and suspect at least one will be in touch for a future visit.

Thank you John for the hospitality and don't be surprised if you hear from me again about booking another visit.

A wonderful week at The Blue Camp

  • 5 of 5
A perfect week on Lake Champlain! The Blue Camp was as described, and more: a clean, well maintained old-style cabin with a wide screened-in porch to take advantage of the best view in the area, everything included except our food, bikes and kayaks to take advantage of the water and the bike path, close to restaurants (found a great new vegan restaurant in Burlington), and a fabulous view of the Lake thrown in for good measure! John rates 5 stars for his thoughtful attention to every detail, and his great customer service. We had family visit us while we were there, and we are all in agreement that the Blue Camp is a fabulous find, and are making plans to return in the future! Thanks, John!

Sunset Drive-In Theatre is 2 miles away. Lake Champlain is the largest freshwater lake in the United States outside of the Great Lakes and has many picturesque islands and coves to explore. The Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York offer many hiking trails and scenic drives. With all of its natural beauty, low population density (second least populated state after Wyoming), and opportunities to experience the outdoors, Vermont is a popular destination spot for tourists (tourism is Vermont's largest industry).
