Great place to explore southern Iceland, to enjoy the oldest 50 m swimming pool as well as the mud bath of the nearby clinic. We had a fantastic time here, being out the whole days and always looking forward to coming back in the evenings to find a very relaxing and charming place, which is also well equipped. We can only highly recommend this villa. The garden, the sound of the river (better than any music, except maybe the Icelandic folk songs ;-) ), was all very appealing to us. The welcome of the owners was very nice and helpful. We will come back (we belong to those coming regularly back to Iceland and to re-enjoy this wonderful country). A big thank you to Valdis and Halfsteinn.

Fantastic house. Spotlessly clean and modern. Location is superb and easy to reach the main tourist attractions in south Iceland. The town is lovely; some nice restaurants, a supermarket, great pool and beautiful scenery and walks. Owners very helpful and obliging. Can't wait to return.
Wow! Incredible home, stunning back yard, so much natural light. We stayed for 4 nights while we made day trips in the South. It was by far a much better value than the hotels and guesthouses we had considered. Valdis met us at the home and was always available via e-mail. She left a very nice welcome basket and information about the area.
We enjoyed being able to walk the short distance into town for pastries and coffee each morning before we went exploring. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time to spend actually enjoying the house itself. It could have been a vacation in itself.
If you are looking for something in this area (close to the Golden Circle), look no further and book it before someone else does....
Awesome, awesome, awesome! What a great place. I didnt want to leave. It is as beautiful and peaceful as the pictures show, but still close to everything. The house was beautifully clean up on our arrival, very well maintained, it has a great open floorplan but still felt cozy. The Owner was excellent to deal with. If you're thinking about it, do it, you wont regret your decision.
We walked daily to the pool which is maybe 5 minutes away, enjoyed the hotpots then walked into town (10 minutes) and enjoyed a cute little bakery there. Overall fantastic experience. We enjoyed horse riding at eldhestar very short drive away. Its a great location to get around. We went to Geysir, Gullfoss and into Reykjavik and enjoyed jsut walking around the surrounding area. What a great way to experience Iceland ....I never wanted my vacation to end. I will definitely return and hopefully this house will be available again.
A great experience and a wonderful property. The location is just right. We wanted a romantic setting and we got it! The house is large and bright, beautifully furnished with a large fireplace. We felt very much at home there. The proprietors are excellent people and everything they told us was on the money. The location could not be better. Secluded wooded area in a small friendly town 30 min from the City and most of Iceland's fantastic places to see, such as Geysers, Lake Thingvellir, Gold waterfall, glaciers and the volcano with the name that you just cannot say, are within 30-60 minutes driving. A very memorable experience and worth every penny. Highly recommended.

Brúarhvammur, is within the town of Hveragerði, the hot spring capital of the world. The reason is geothermal heat the town is built above a hot-spring field, only 45 km away from Reykjavik.
The house is 255 m2 with an open family/kitchen area. It features 2 rooms (sleeps 6 easily) and 2 bathrooms. The spacious deck is wonderful for outdoor enjoyment, as well as the property itself, which is 3500 m2.
Few communities in the world can claim to have an active thermal site in the centre of town. Hveragerði´s, most precious gem is it´s geothermal park. There can not be many towns in the world with hot springs literally in peoples back yard. The geothermal park is centrally located and is open every day in the summer time. A natural clay foot bath can be enjoyed in the park and afterwards you can soak your feet in one of the hot springs.
The last weekend in june Hveragerði host an annual flower show that shows all the best from Icelandic gardening og horticulture. You wouldn´t miss it for the world.
The swimming pool at Laugaskarð is renowned for its lovely setting as well as excellent facilities, including hot pots, whirlpool pot and a natural steam bath. The pool is heated with steam coming directly from the ground and because of this many consider it to be good for your health.
Walkways and footpaths within town limits are excellent. Somewhat to the north of town is one of the country’s largest geothermal areas, Hengill, where plumes of steam can be seen for miles. Hiking and riding trails stretch from the town throughout Ölfusdalur valley, into the Hengill volcanic area and all the way to the Nesjavellir geothermal area and Þingvellir National Park. Along the way are warm springs where bathing is possible.
