Fantastic - beautiful place and helpful owners

We stayed for a week in February 2012. First impression on walking in the door is that the place is spectacular - it looks like something from a modern living magazine. It has been very recently remodeled with incredible attention to every detail. All gleaming glass and warm dark wood and tile. The furniture is new and tastefully modern and the kitchen is well equipped, bright and beautiful. Second is that it is big. The bedroom is huge with a queen bed and a large open area that can accommodate a fold-down murphy bed if you need it, but otherwise is just a great open space. In the living room the two modern white leather sofas can fold flat as well and linens/bedding is provided. The owners were incredibly helpful and attentive and just a real pleasure. They left some games for our son and recommendations for various places nearby to shop and eat. If you are only doing things at La Costa you don't need a car, but it is very useful for getting around and seeing the many interesting sights in the San Diego area. We spent 2 days at LegoLand with our 4 year old, and there are many other great places to visit (downtown La Jolla, great beaches, San Diego Zoo, Seaworld etc.) that a car is indispensable for. The La Costa resort is, of course, fantastic, though use of some of the facilities (Kidtopia daycare and some resort pools) is limited to hotel guests. We didn't use the Spa or golf course but both looked amazing. There were several really good restaurants and nice resort shops on site within a easy strolling distance. The building has a pool and hot tub right out the back door that is very convenient. The unit has WiFi, plenty of outlets and is a relaxing place to work and write. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in this area, even if you aren't interested in La Costa specifically.
