I traveled to the mountains where the eagles made their nests. There I saw the hand of God: I saw creation at its best.......

Wow' what a great 4th July weekend. We came up here with our family and friends, and enjoyed the cabin so much. There was plenty of room for 4 adults,4 teens/preteens and infant. We cooked on the grill you provided, sat at the picnic table, played games, watched the kids run around in the yard and roll down the hill-such a lovely space. The buffalo were entertaining, the miniature donkey adorable, the views constantly changing and beautiful. The rooms were so beautifully and thoughtfully appointed, as was the amazing porch. Pillows and blankets on a porch- so luxurious. Oh-and we loved the mountain laurel railings-very cool. Thank you for a great weekend
We had a wonderful visit at Country Haven. The home was very clean and well equipped with anything we needed. We had 2 young children with us and they loved being able to play outside in the yard and look at the animals next door. The location was very convenient for visiting downtown Asheville. We would definitely return for another visit.
My Wife, two friends and I Chose "Country Haven" as our temporary residence for a wedding that was taking place in the same town. Besides the property being absolutely breathtaking, the cabin it self is misleading. Misleading because from the outside it looks comfortable and quaint, then you walk inside and then, BAM! You immediately get hit with beautiful wood floors, walls, ceilings and a beautiful railing that carried along the upstairs lines. My wife and I stayed upstairs while our friends stayed in the bedrooms downstairs. This cabin is much bigger than it seems from the outside. It has everything you need and or want in a cabin. We enjoyed walking the grounds, seeing the animals and then building a fire in the fire pit, cooking a meal and eating together in the spacious dining table as a family. This was such an amazing getaway from city life.
We will be back to the beautiful town of Leicester and I can only hope we will be staying in Country haven again.
Thank you again for everything,
Wow! I am still on cloud nine after my Valentine's mountain weekend at Country Haven! I am still telling everyone and anyone who will listen about our trip. My boyfriend and I went with another couple and we could not have been happier. Country Haven was absolutely perfect (I really can't think of any other word to describe it!) It was so clean and pristine, the house immediately felt like our own after just a few hours. We loved cooking big breakfasts and dinners in the clean and fully functioning kitchen, and at night, we had a blast sitting around the fire pit and eating s'mores underneath a blanket of stars.
Not only is the cabin itself comforting and cozy, the location couldn't be better. On the first day, we took a quick and easy 10 minute drive to downtown Asheville and toured the local restaurants, art galleries, and breweries. On the next day, we packed a lunch and hiked the nearby Rattlesnake Trail and enjoyed a picnic at the top of the mountain. I'd have to say my FAVORITE part of the trip was enjoying a hot cup of coffee on Country Haven's wrap around porch each morning and visiting with the farm animals. I have never experienced anything so tranquil or serene!
I had never visited Asheville before, and I already cannot wait to go back! In fact, my boyfriend has already booked Country Haven for a weekend getaway in the spring, and my family is planning on coming back in December. I am so excited to have created new lifelong memories this weekend, as well as a new tradition of visiting Country Haven each year!
2 of my good friends and I were looking to catch up and relax in a peaceful environment and Country Haven did not disappoint us. The cabin was absolutely amazing...so clean, nicely decorated, peaceful, and had everything we needed and more. It was easy to get to and close to everything. I can't wait to go back with my husband in the spring.
I've now lost count of how many times we've stayed at either Country Haven or the neighboring cabin (Tranquility Knoll). There's good reason we return year after year, and sometimes twice a year. Both cabins are consistently well-maintained, exceptionally cozy, and the setting is absolutely beautiful during all seasons. Linde [the owner] is always accommodating and pleasant. After a couple days at the cabin, you truly get the feeling you're in your second home.
The cabin's proximity to Asheville and the neighboring towns is important to us. We've grown particularly fond of Waynesville, Black Mountain, Brevard, Weaverville, and Hendersonville - all about 30 minutes away or less. Each town has its own unique character, while still retaining that friendly and welcoming mountain town feel.
When visiting the Asheville area, food tends takes center stage, as well as the craft beer scene. There is no shortage of fantastic, budget-friendly restaurants. My tip is to seek recommendations directly from the locals and don't rely too much on the Food Review Web Sites. I'm rarely disappointed by a local's recommendation, while I can't say the same for the Web Sites. Here are a few of our favorites, in no particular order (certainly not a comprehensive list):
Asheville: 12 Bones Smokehouse, Sunny Point Cafe, Corner Kitchen, El Que Pasa, Apollo Flame Bistro, Vinnie's Neighborhood Italian, White Duck Taco Shop
Hendersonville: Flat Rock Wood Room, Fireside Restaurant and Pancake Inn
Weaverville: Well Bred Bakery & Cafe
Waynesville: Blue Rooster Southern Grill, Joey's Pancake House (in Maggie Valley, short drive from Waynesville)
By the way, don't forget to spend some time driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway - it's a must, especially in the fall!
I would highly recommend this cabin/house to anyone going to visit Asheville. The location is excellent and easy to get to. The house was beautiful, so pretty all decorated for Christmas. All of the beds were super comfortable, sheets were soft (and we are picky sheet people). We loved it. Beautiful scenery from the porch, the mountain views are gorgeous. Everything you will need has been thought of. We hiked in the Blue Ridge Mountains which is easily accessible as well and a gorgeous ride on the parkway. It was a great short getaway. Would love to return in the summer to do more hiking. Loved the animals as well. Such a nice touch. Ten stars for this cabin. Loved it!! Beautiful place.
