Lovely Little Cabin

So i came here as a get away from the city and all the noise and haste, looking for a little peace and quiet. The satellite house definitely met and exceeded my expectations. The house is between 15 and 20 min from the closest place to get groceries and such, which considering how secluded it felt was perfect. There is a nice communal area both in between the main house and the satellite house (about 30 ft apart which includes the hot tub) and another in the back which has the fire pit. needed to pick up some supplies to start the fire as it had been raining before i got there, but the area was nicely kept and easy to use. Inside was cosey, but that's what one should expect for a 2-3 person bungalow. The layout is the kitchen/bed room as one room, and the second room is a large bathroom which contained a nice cast iron bathtub with everything that you could want for a bath. The main room had a comfy futon/ queen bed, another single bed on an outcropping about 7 ft up for a 2nd or third person, and finally a respectable kitchen for the nature of the place. Kitchen had a single electric burner for cooking, so if you are planning on making giant multi-pan dinners it might not happen, however i found it to be more than enough for what i needed. Lastly there were ample materials inside for activities in the area such as hiking and mountan biking. Overall, this place is relatively inexpensive, has a hot tub and a fire pit, and plenty of outdoors. Definitely worth it.

We loved this beautiful modern cabin! We stayed for a long weekend, from the first day it felt like home: the ingenious built-in furniture, mini-kitchen, claw-footed tub, eclectic design elements & incredible outdoor area suited us perfectly.
Grace, the owner, and her staff made booking and lodging a pleasure. We'll definitely be back soon!

I fell in love with the photos of the Satellite Bungalow and the place is just as lovely in person- if not more so! Communication with the owner (Grace) was easy and thorough. The bungalows were well designed and the amenities and furniture were well thought out. That bath tub is every bit as amazing as I had hoped! We went hiking at DuPont State Forrest on Saturday and I definitely recommend it. It took us about 20 minutes or so to drive there and we spent the morning and afternoon exploring the trails and waterfalls. On Sunday, we took another nice drive into Asheville to see the Biltmore Estate which was fantastic. Grace has put together such a nice handbook and handy-dandy guide to local attractions, restaurants, grocery stores and anything else you might need. I would recommend this property to anyone and we will definitely be back!

Absolutely Amazing!

I don't often write reviews regarding my experience (good or bad), but Grace was such an amazing help along the process of booking and accommodating, that I just have to share our experience.

First of all, Grace was very prompt from the start and replied to our emails with questions very quickly. Each of our questions were clearly answered. Although check-in is not until the afternoon, we were able to arrive around 9am due to a 12hr drive from NYC - we were very happy with the early check-in permitted. Before arriving, I asked about an iron for our clothes and whether it's available at the bungalow. Grace confirmed that they are not, but we did find one waiting for us with a very welcoming note on our arrival! These are the kind of things that go a long way - true customer service.

The satellite bungalow was small, but large enough to accommodate 3 people. Every piece of furniture in there was placed to optimize space - we were very impressed with all the things that were able to fit in there and still allow for room to walk around. We were provided with large portions of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, lotion, Epsom salt, clothes detergent, and dish detergent. You don't see this in a 5 star hotel! The kitchen is stacked with everything you'll need to cook - plates, cups, tea kettle, pots, pans, small fridge, electric oven, etc. We were able to cook twice during our stay and save some money! Did I also mention a washer and dyer is provided? We left with clean clothes!

The bungalow looks like it's well taken care of we had no issues with cleanliness. The hot tub outside worked great, and the tikis made for a great romantic setting at night. In case you were wondering, yes, lighter fluid is provided for the tikis. We didn't use the fire pit, but only because we had no time to with so many other things to do. The pit looks great and there are many chairs around it to accommodate a large group.

I think the only criticism I have towards our stay are the windows/curtains. All the curtains were very short, so they didn't allow for any privacy. At night, we simply hung our towels and any blankets over them. This might not be a big deal for some (you are alone in the woods anyway), but we slept better at night knowing someone wasn't peeking in.

Finally, I would recommend the Moonbeam Bungalows to anyone looking for a pleasant, attentive stay. I have nothing but good memories regarding our stay in NC. I hope to one day return as well!
