Fork Magazine recently described Franklin as 'Fourteen miles and 100 years from Nashville, Downtown Franklin is an oasis of Southern hospitality housed in a 16-block National Register district of antique shops, gift and book stores, art galleries, boutiques, lovingly restored homes and more....' It's no wonder that so many stars call this beautiful area home. Franklin has not only been named the number one small town in Tennessee, but also made Southern Living’s ‘Best Small Town’ top ten list. Experience the community pride and southern hospitality and enjoy the historic attractions, upscale shopping, live entertainment and great places to eat… all within walking distance of Jefferson House.

Enjoy your own getaway in a beautifully renovated historic home built in 1900. This home is ideal for a romantic getaway, weekend with friends or escape for the whole family. The house features ten foot ceilings, three bedrooms and two and a half baths with over 2600 sq ft of living space and two gas log fireplaces. The master bedroom suite includes a king size bed, walk in closet, double vanity, shower and refinished antique claw foot tub. The additional two spacious bedrooms have queen size beds. The kitchen has is stocked with everything you need, from a bottle opener to pots and pans, baking dishes to forks and knives. A formal dining room provides a nice space for family meals. At the end of the day, relax in front of the fireplace, play board games or choose between cable TV or a selection of DVD’s to watch on the 42” HDTV. A washing machine and dryer are available for your use in the large laundry room. The home sits on half an acre and is professionally landscaped. The front porch includes chairs and a porch swing. There is a fenced area in the back that has outdoor seating and a grill during the spring, summer and fall. An optional inflatable queen bed will allow for two additional guests. Highchair and crib available upon request.

We stumbled upon Franklin by pure chance in the spring of 2011. We knew right then and there that we wanted to make this special place a part of our lives. Family is extremely important to us and we get such joy watching our son Wyatt enjoy the people and community as much as we do. We want you to enjoy our home. Jefferson House was an amazing place to stay! It was extremely clean, tastefully decorated and inviting. We only were able to stay one night, but we are ready to go back and spend more time in the town of Franklin and at this adorable house. Thank you, Sarah, for the hospitality!

celebrating our 38th anniversary!

Ed and I spent our 38th wedding anniversary here at Jefferson House because of a loving surprise by our daughter Sarah and son-in-law Michael. We spent a quiet morning driving up the Natchez Trace from Florence, Alabama enjoying the scenery. We arrived to the house Friday evening to get another surprise our children left for us, awaiting our arrival was a beautiful bouquet, a bottle of tasty wine and a gift certificate for dinner at Cork and Cow. Oh what a dinner we had there, just the two of us caught in the moment allowing us to recap our life together over the past 45 years. We made our way back to the house as it started to snow. We settled in the warm setting of the downstairs room and awoke in the morning to a light covering of snow. We of course, bundled up for our morning walk in to town for breakfast. I snapped pictures along our brief walk and took in the snowfall. We ate a delicious breakfast at Frothy Monkey and sipped on hot cups of coffee. We returned to the house and started a game of Monopoly in front of the living room fireplace, where it kept us warm. Today we awoke to blue skies and sun.

Anniversary Surprise

I decided to surprise the love of my life with a quick getaway in Franklin for our 1 year anniversary. When I arrived at Jefferson House, I immediately realised that the photos I had seen did not do the house justice. The house is warm and inviting, romantic, and had everything we could possibly need for a wonderful stay waiting for us. The master bedroom is gorgeous, and the claw foot tub was perfect for a relaxing bubble bath. The only regret I have is that we couldn't stay longer. We will definately be back for another stay at Jefferson House. Thank you for sharing your house with us Sarah!!

Our stay at Jefferson House was a real treat. The house is a wonderfully situated and beautifully appointed home. The decor is peaceful , maybe a little sparse on enough comfortable seating for 6 guests, and serene. The kitchen had all the amenities of home, but again could have used some kind of seating.Iam sure the yard is lovely in the spring and the neighbor exudes friendliness and security. It was a delightful week.
