This is just one unit of the five home tract known as the Lanata Row Houses, which spans nearly the entire block between Gov. Nicholls and Barracks Street. The nearly identical homes were all designed by the man that made St. Louis Cathedral. Built in 1847, the homes stand where the French originally had their army barracks and military hospital. Dominique Lanata acquired the land in 1845. The Lanata Row Houses have stood for over 150 years. The Richelieu Hotel is on the far corner while the others were converted into the Lanata House Apartments.

We received last minute tickets to the National Championship game and all the hotels down town were sold out. A friend told me about this amazing place in the French Quarter which was perfect for a few days of fun and football. My Husband and I simply loved the this quaint apartment. I can’t say enough about how nice staying here made our trip. The location was great, a couple of blocks from the French Market and a short walk to any destination in the French Quarter. We also felt very safe knowing that it was a gated building. The apartment its self is Terrific!! Fully undated with the most beautiful artwork and gorgeous chandeliers. We will certainly want to stay here again and will definitely recommend it to our friends and family!!
For our 15th year of Jazzfest, my fiancé and I were tired of all the usual places we had stayed. We decided to check out Home Away and fell in love when we saw this studio gem online. The booking agent was a pleasure to work with and everything was shaping up for our best lodging to date. The studio was perfect for us. It had all the amenities; an amazing location I feel is the best in the Quarter, close to Frenchman and the Fairgrounds, a wonderful courtyard where we stored our bicycles, a French Quarter balcony, and the benefits of a full kitchen which a hotel can not provide. The brick walls, mirrors, sliding floor to ceiling windows, Quarter balcony, and chandelier, makes this a true New Orleans experience. We had such an amazing time in this studio as the title of the property did not disappoint. This studio really is the "Beverly Hills of the French Quarter"!
This unit is in the heart of the French Quarter, a five minute walk to Jackson Square and Bourbon Street, a block over from Royal Street and all the antique jewelry stores. Also a five minute walk to the French Market and Cafe Du Monde (famous for the beignets). Five minutes in the other direction will get you to Frenchman Street and some of the best jazz and music clubs in the world. A stone's throw from some of the best restaurants in town, including Stanley and Irene's, this particular part of the French Quarter is nicknamed 'The Beverly Hills of the Quarter', in that it is the safest and quietest part of the Quarter. http://bit.ly/1J3U6mX
