My husband and I have retired to his childhood home in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley in western Montana. We enjoy camping, fly fishing, and traveling. Our home in Helena is a comfortable place to spend time with our family and friends and enjoy the many activities in the Capital City.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
We enjoy strolling through the Downtown walking mall or dining at one of the many unique restaurants. We often walk around the neighborhood to see the Historic homes and visit with our neighbors.
It is also a short walk to many churches and the Helena Middle School which hosts the High School football games. We enjoy performances at the Myrna Loy Center, the Civic Theater and the Community Band Concerts.
Our stay in Helena was not for vacation purposes but rather to visit an ailing relative in the hospital who ultimately passed away during our time in Helena. It was extremely important that we spent final hours with her and with each other as a family. This property was our gathering nest to go up and spend time with her and come home to be restored and be together. The home was a home for us, it was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed or wanted. While staying in this house, we met up with family and walked in the historic district enjoying the spring season and memories of downtown Helena and our loved one who left us. I will treasure the time we spent here and how the owner went out of her way IN A BIG WAY to help us through a time of sorrow while being joined together. Thank you and BLESS YOU.
Whenever possible we go through vrbo to housing accommodations and are usually pleased. However, this property beat them all - comfortable, remodeled in the time period, clean, fresh. Virtually everything we needed or wanted, other than food, was already in place - laundry soap, dishwasher soap, mayo and other condiments were already in the refrigerator. While staying in this house, we entertained guests and family and walked in the historic district enjoying the autumn season before returning to SE USA.
Great little house. Very old school. Built in the early 40's and very well kept. We had a wonderful time staying here. Our son, attending Carroll, couls not make it back for Spring Break so we took Spring Break to him. Lounging, eating and just hanging out. It was great. Close to everthing yet just far enough away. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back.
We stayed here for 10 days and enjoyed it thoroughly. I had lived in Helena 8 years ago at the other end of the alley so was familiar with the area. It is conveniently located. The house had everything we needed and was most comfortable. It has obviously been updated recently and everything worked perfectly. It was very clean and well stocked. The fenced in backyard was perfect for my girls and they loved watering the flowers. We are hoping to come again and this would definitely be our first choice of a place to stay. All my Helena friends that visited us at the house were most impressed and were recommending it to their visiting family and friends.
As a traveling health professional, I am away from home for 6-, 8-, 13+ weeks at a time. Anytime I can stay in a house versus an apartment or hotel room with kitchenette, my stay is that much more enjoyable. This property is one of the best that I have stayed at in a long time. Very homey and comfortable feel, made relaxing after a long day at the hospital that much more enjoyable. The neighborhood is a beautiful established, tree-lined street with easy walking access to the Historic areas of town. The property was spacious, well kept with all the amenities needed includeing access to a washer and dryer. Covered parking under a large carport allowed my car to be off the street and protected from the snows, so no scraping my windows in the morning. It's location on a "Snow Route" street, meant that the main street was always sanded in bad wether making my access to the hospital easy to reach at all hours of the day or night. The large picture windows in the living room and dinning rooms allowed great views of the neighborhood as families, students and visitors enjoyed walks to the schools, attactions, or a stroll around the block with your faithful hound at your side. The home owner had a number of brochures of shops and activities in and around Helena. There as also a notebook with WIFI access codes and handwritten notes with directions to the nearest grocery store, pharmacy and gas stations, and a contact numbers for emergencies. A phone call to check on my arrival and answer any additional questions offered an opportunity to check on church locations and other specific shopping sites, and senic driving routes. This property is located about a mile from the State Capitol building and from the Historic section of town. Its location to major streets offered easy access from all areas of town, yet far enough away from major road ways that you didn't have the heavy traffic noises associated. It is also close to ski slopes for winter activities and hiking trails, fishing and other outdoor activities. I have already reccomend this home to others coming to the Helena area. It will be the first property I call on whenenver I return to this area for work or vacation. Thanks for sharing your home and making my stay so much more enjoyable.
We just returned home from a four day stay at this home over Thanksgiving. It was very comfortable and exactly as described. The kitchen is well stocked, the home is well maintained and beautifully decorated. We will return soon.
