PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I rented this cabin after returning home from a deployment. This was a perfect choice. The cabin is spotless, updated and cozy! We loved hiking and riding 4wheelers on the many trails surrounding the cabin. Our two dogs LOVED the fenced in yard and exploring. The doggie door was a perfect choice! The owners were so helpful and inviting! We would love to return soon! I recommend this cabin to all who enjoy nature and want to relax in a slice of heaven!

JUST PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5
Wow! This vacation cabin is absolutely perfect. We felt right at home the moment we arrived! Here are the important details:

The Location: It's tucked away up on the mountain about 15 minutes from the main road into town. Majestic views in every direction and houses (and old barns) are spread out over rolling hills. Hike up just behind the cabin for more breathtaking views.

The Cabin: Don't worry about bringing cookware, or towels, and all that nonsense. Brad & Erin have thought of everything. It's an adorable, clean and cozy cabin with plenty of space. This place is also perfect for pets. Our dogs also loved the hikes up the hill behind the cabin. And that marvelous wood burning stove kept a nice fire all day and night.

Our trip lasted a week, but we would have loved to stay longer. We will definitely return in the summer.

P.S. Make sure to plan your arrival during daylight hours. It's very hard to get around those mountains in the dark!

A GEM IN THE NC MOUNTAINS

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I are back again from another stay at this wonderful cabin in the woods. We echo our previous review, and like other reviewers – we wish we could keep this place a secret. It is clean, cozy and comfortable; a perfect place to relax and get close to nature – without roughing it. We like that we can bring our 2 small dogs along. We love to hike and did several nearby hikes, including; High Rocks and Roan Bald sections of the Appalachian Trail. We also drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is still open, even during this government shutdown. Mt. Mitchell, being a NC state park was not affected at all and facilities remained open, along with the restaurant and concessions. We had a wild experience -- a bear ran by us while we were taking photos of flowers along a waterfall on the way up to hike the Douglas Falls trail. The owners are accommodating and easy to deal with. The price is also very reasonable. We love Burnsville and Mt. Mitchell, NC and are glad to have found this cabin so we can enjoy the area. If you are looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy the woods, this place won’t disappoint. We will be back.

PERFECT!

My husband, our 3 dogs & I enjoyed this little slice of heaven for a weekend. It was beautiful, secluded, peaceful and comfortable. The cabin has such charm and had everything we needed to enjoy a chillier than normal May weekend. The stove in the fireplace kicked some heat!

Our dogs had a blast exploring and playing. We hiked one morning, enjoyed the hot tub, relaxed, read, watched movies. It was absolutely perfect! We will definitely go back.

The owner was very helpful & accommodating. Thank you!

BEST VRBO EXPERIENCE EVER!

  • 5 of 5
I am with many of the other reviewers and would like to keep this place a secret. However like everyone else I depend on the good, the bad and the truth of the reviews. From start to finish this experience was an A+++. No fuss booking. Brad was very responsive to every email. Erin left a nice note advising us of slippery stairs from the snow and the cabin was clean and tidy. We felt at home immediately! To top it off we had 4-5" of snow so got to enjoy the beauty of the area and the hot tub with snow falling all around and on us. We and the dogs had a great time hiking, running around and laying in front of the wood stove. Even eating breakfast looking out the large windows was wonderful. I can't wait to return in the Spring and Fall. The photos don't do the place justice, so don't look any further for a couples or small family weekend away. You won't be disappointed and you will be fully relaxed!

PEACE AND SOLITUDE

  • 5 of 5
The previous reviews are spot on. This is a fantastic place to get away from it all. My wife and I wanted a nice weekend in a beautiful place, and this cabin did not disappoint. The owners seemed to think of everything, including having kindling and firewood ready to go for the woodstove. We went in early December, thinking we would be spending most of our time inside around the fire, but we were treated with an unusually warm weekend, so we spent most of the time outside on the front porch, either reading, watching the dogs play in the fenced in yard, or sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars. The sounds we heard most often were the flapping wings of birds feeding off the front porch and the wind rustling through the trees. It is a great place to get away and recharge, and it was tough having to leave. Next time we are adding one more day. This is a great place for a couple with dogs, or with a small family since there is a futon bed in the living room. If you are adventurous you can sleep in the loft above the barn on the property. They have TV, Wifi, books and games to keep you entertained if need be. We will be back.
