LANIKAI OCEAN VIEW RETREAT-STUNNING OCEAN VIEWS, WALK TO LANIKAI BEACH

This is a beautiful, clean bedroom suite with access to a detached remodeled garage that serves as an indoor/outdoor rec room and kitchenette. It's a 3 star room with a 2 star kitchenette situation and a 5+ star view and veranda! (and a 2 star price)

The highlights are the AMAZING view out over the islands, the quiet neighborhood that allows you to hear the surf at night, lolling you to sleep, and the beautiful private-feeling salt-water pool.

There is a workable, clean and even cute kitchen area in the rec room. The sink is located 13 steps away in the laundry area. That's the quirky part. And while the kitchen space, laundry, and the outdoor areas are not "private" in that they are shared with Lois (she keeps some food in the second fridge in there), the owner, Lois herself is a lovely intelligent and gracious host. There is a single bed (great for a kid) and a ping pong table, as well as beach chairs you can borrow in the rec room. The rec room sports the amazing view, so you'll end up spending a lot of time in there!

The bedroom is like a cozy bear's den, a little dark, but the bathroom is spacious and light. Everything is recently remodeled, very clean. The bed is of excellent quality: great mattress, plenty of pillows, soft sheets, clean everything. There's not an excellent view from the bedroom. But EVERYwhere else on the property has one of the most beautiful views we've encountered on Oahu.

But you will want to spend most of your time outside on the veranda, and in the indoor/outdoor space which boasts a full-sized fridge/freezer just for you, a hot plate, a toaster and microwave and coffeemaker. The kitchen is basic, but has everything you need. The short walk to the big utility sink with the dishwashing setup was not such a big deal to us.

In terms of sound/privacy, you might her Lois or her dog walking above your room on occasion. And you might see Lois going to or fro to her car (the room is near the carport), and you might see her come into the rec room once in a day to get something.

A big bonus is the beautiful salt water pool, with a panoramic view of the coast below and the mountains behind the house.

You are only a few blocks walk to one of the best beaches on the island - no surge, no dangerous waves, just miles of great swimming or paddling in crystal blue water out to the islands.
