Overpriced dirty icebox

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.
The property manager was very unhelpful.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

The place was dirty (piles on the couch, in the tub, and on the floor-not to mention the black mold in the bathroom). The bed was painful and had only a very thin, cheap comforter to balance the 60 degree weather inside; only one heat source for the entire building which blows up your nose while sleeping, and I say only one because the secondary heater stored in the bedroom closet sparked when plugged in and the plug itself was too hot to touch-a definitive fire hazard and safer not used-p.s.- the floors are freezing. After the first night, asked for a refund for the second night as we were so cold and in so much pain from the bed-when told we were not guaranteed to not get one, we decided to tough it out a second night (considering we had paid $600 in the off season). The DVD player doesn't work, which we realized after going in to town to rent a few movies. We are severely disappointed in PortA Escapes because although we have stayed with them on at least 6 different occasions, never received a response to our request for a partial refund for this stay. The ONLY upside to this property is the location.
