About Debra Harvey
I was born and raised in fabulous Sussex County and spent my summers 'at the beach' in my grandparents' cottage on Hickman Street, where Daddy still lives today. We rode our bikes on the Boardwalk in the mornings. Mommie packed us lunch and took us to the beach every afternoon. We swam, hunted for shells, sunned, read, napped under the umbrella and returned happily 'brown as berries' (sometimes, red as lobsters). My brother was genius at skim boarding. We showered off the day outside in the Sand Shower - Awesome! Daddy always had croquet set up for a nice game before dinner. Evenings were spent on the Boards at Funland, eating Dollies' popcorn, ice cream or chocolates at Candy Kitchen. When we were teens, there was volleyball under the lights on the beach. When my own 4 children were young, I wanted them to share the Rehoboth experience. I had the great, good fortune to buy a wonderful home on Pennsylvania Avenue. Later the Oak Cottage was purchased and lovingly renovated and refurnished. Vera Bradley bedspreads, beautiful dishes, original art, central air-conditioning and a huge porch on which your entire family can stretch out, relax, dine, snooze, read, play games, make the Oak Cottage a home I can share with others looking for a classic, family beach vacation.
Did I mention we love to dance!

Why Debra Harvey chose Rehoboth Beach
You will love this cottage because it is not the Four Seasons Hotel. It is an old style, comfy, charming, classic beach cottage. You will live on the porch. Everyone does. It's addictive. The yard is large and private. You are not jammed up against the neighbor's house. Plenty of room to play. I always wanted my children to get away from the TV, video games and 'go be kids.' Yours will be free from the entertainment world and go explore. You will unwind and relax. All that said, there is central air so no noisy window units humming all night. There are TVs in Little Cottage, Master Bedroom, Living Room and one Guest Bedroom for times you feel like watching a movie or checking out the news - try not to do it. You have a nice partly sunny, partly shaded yard and a cool, screened porch on which to enjoy your coffee, cocktail and dinner. BBQ some Delmarvalous chicken or steam up those Blue Crabs. We have such delicious local produce and seafood. Or, take yourself out to one of the many local restaurants - Seafood, Sushi, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Pizza, and even British cuisine. This is the most idyllic beach town ever, with all the memories of your childhood and everything you want within your reach.
What makes this house unique
Huge Porch. Ocean Block. So much Fun!
Only 6 houses away from the sand! A very short walk to a gorgeous, white sand beach with lifeguards. You can rent chairs and umbrellas right on the beach.
Just around the corner to the Boardwalk.
Beach Snack Shack - enjoy lunch right on the beach, afternoon snow cones and cool drinks - 1 block away - a short walk across the sand.
Lake Gerar is 2 short blocks away. The children will enjoy the playground and seeing the ducks. Walk over the brick bridge 4 short blocks to downtown attractions.
Known as 'Our Nation's Summer Capital,' Rehoboth has it all - Atlantic Ocean, Rehoboth Bay, Boardwalk, Arcades, Rides, Restaurants, Bars, Live Entertainment, Bandstand Concerts, Water Park, Boutique and Outlet Shopping and more.
Charming locale for families and singles.
Guestbook comments from the owner
My husband and I stayed in The Little Cottage to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was just the right size for the two of us! The new layout of the kitchen was bright and appealing. We enjoyed breakfast, and jigsaw puzzles, using the bar stools at the counter. The kitchen is not fully equipped, but by planning ahead, it met all of our needs. The bathroom/dressing room is huge, complete with a deep claw foot bathtub that lent itself to long candlelit soaks. The owner had planned ahead by providing candles, bath salts, etc. There was a separate shower, a vanity, and abundant shelves and drawers for storage. One of our favorite things was the large outside sitting area with comfortable lawn chairs and a table to eat meals, in a backyard with trees. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cottage!!
