The Owner purchased this apartment in 2005
The choice to buy a property in Panama was an easy one. Panama City provides for a personal desire to have both the 'old world' mixed in with a modern day city. Casco Viejo is a beautiful sanctuary just across the bay from the more modern metropolis of Panama City. The area near Plaza Bolivar is full of historical beauty and cultural tastes of Panama. Panama in general is a stable country with a great future ahead of it. With all the amazing beaches and beautiful mountains so close, you can enjoy all the beauty the world has to offer in this small country.
The Tribe Building is located one block from the Presidential Palace, historical buildings, National Theatre and Church in one of the safest areas of Panama. Casco Viejo is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a beautiful day and pleasant evening. Spending days and nights in this historical neighborhood is beautiful. With the center of the Panama City just minutes away, you have the best of the old world and the new. It's great.
The apartment is wonderful! The owner is wonderful! I truly appreciated all the time put in to make our stay the best possible. You cannot be in a better location, it is steps from the best Plaza, it is also in a very secure location, there is a guard station steps away for the Presidential Palace. The pictures do not do it justice, it is much better, the kitchen is a wonderful large eat in kitchen, I had a very comfortable dinner party. The views from the balcony are much better than the photos, its a great place that I could not recomend more, it is a very private and quiet apartment. It is very simple to get a taxi for a few dollars to the main areas of Panama City, it is very easy to stay in Casco and, do business in the city, it was easy to step out the door and get a taxi at 7:30 am. I will always use this apartment on my trips to Panama City, it is large, very clean, comfortable, has the best location, the owner is completely professional in handling his rentals, the price is Great for the apartment, it was my best stay in Panama City ever. I have rented other apartments on Balboa, this is 100 times better! Wishing you the wonderful stay I had! The owner sent my deposit back immediately after my departure.
What we loved about this property location...smack in the middle of a history lesson! The owners and their manager were excellent to deal with. The neighborhood is a slice of daily life, with a twist..it is right next to the Presidential Palace.
Being only steps from at least 3 wonderful cafes, all with great outdoor patios and sometimes entertainment, was an added bonus.
Tbe view from the balcony was lovely, ..at night it was magical.
We walked to the seawall, the Panama Canal museum, and many churches. A great 2 weeks.

My two friends and I came to Panama City for a weekend and this apartment in Casco Viejo was absolutely perfect. It was walking distance to all the local bars/clubs, but far enough that we didn't hear the partying all night after the return home. I read on some other hotel/hostel sites about how their place was the 'perfect location', but then after reading the reviews...saw many horrible comments about not being able to sleep at night because the bars were a stone distance away. Not this place! This place was just absolutely perfect. Two bedroom, one bath. Quiet all the time. The manager and the owner were extremely helpful and always responded within a few hours of a query. Suggest this place for anyone coming to Panama!
My wife and I visited Panama City in January, 2014. We spent 4 days in this unit, located in Casco Antiguo. The unit is just as advertised. Great location, for both nightlife and touring the entire city. The local restaurants were great, as the unit is located on Plaza Bolivar, next to the Presidential Plaza. Richard and Cristina did all they could to make our stay nice. I visited Casco for a day last year when I was in Panama, and had to come back here to soak in the beauty of the rehabilitation being done. Spend some time here, you will love it.
My friend and I just returned from a trip to Panama, having spent 5 nights in this lovely apartment. It was spacious, clean, and well appointed with nice bedrooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom, all as had been so accurately depicted in the listing. I especially loved sitting on the balcony at different times of the day and watching the local activity including the guards at the Presidential Palace and even got to see part of a ceremonial procession during a festival evening and another the following morning. The location is superb, next to Plaza Bolivar which is a gem with excellent restaurants and cafes open day and night. Casco Viejo houses a very fine museum, dedicated to the Canal, as well as churches, architecturally interesting buildings, Indian markets and several more restaurants and attractions.
Richard and Cristina were very attentive to the few needs we did have. They had arranged for a van to pick us up at the airport when we arrived and the driver, John, was so nice that we hired him another day as driver and guide for the Gamboa Rainforest and Miraflores Locks.
Everything about our stay at the Tribe was exceptional and I would certainly choose to stay here again on another visit and to recommend it to other travelers.
The property is as described. The location was perfect for exploring the historic part of the city. We used the Hop on Hop Off for two days and got a broad view of Panama. The Panama Canal tour is a great experience. We dined at many good restaurants. We especially enjoyed the L'Osteria, Tantalo,Pips and Ego and Narcisco. Don't miss a trip to the Fish Market. Try Capital Bistro Panama for after dinner drinks and a great view. The owner couldn't have been more helpful with arranging airport transfers and tour information.
Casco Viejo is torn to pieces, there is construction everywhere, but oh what wonderful work they are doing. The disparity between old falling down buildings and the restored is amazing, what a fascinating place. The apartment is just as represented, beautiful, spacious and right down the street from Simon Bolivar square, we spent mornings on the balcony, drinking coffee and watching tours enter the Presidential Palace. We loved it and would go back in a minute. Richard was kind, helpful and so pleasant to work with, it was just great!
Casco Viejo, Panama is full of historic sites as well as the best cafes, restaurants and bars in all of Panama City. All is withing walking distance and easy to find as you stroll through the streets.
