Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

Family orientated Northwoods property on Lower Kaubashine Lake 5 miles from Minocqua. We are open year round and can accommodate 2 - 6. Our screened in porches have our original swinging beds. Nothing is better than a nap on a swinging bed on a warm afternoon. Fireplaces with free wood and also firepits outside.

We have rowboats, canoe, pontoon boat and paddle boats. X country ski trails are minutes away. Snowmobile from your cabin to the trail.

Cabins are clean and modern while retaining their Northwoods charm.

About The Owner

We are the 3rd generation of our family to welcome visitors to the Northwoods.

The property was built in 1918 by the Keith Family and purchased by my grandparents Maynard and Millie Black in 1946. They ran it until 1970 when they sold it to my parents Craig and Trudy Black. Troy and I returned to the Northwoods in 1993 to help my father Craig and have been running it with our 3 boys ever since. My sister Katie and brother Steve are also part of the business and will be seen helping out around the resort. Craig retired now can also can be found roofing, or doing remodeling when he is in town which keeps him happily busy enough. We are a true family business. We have now made it a year round vacation destination. We are busy all year keeping enough firewood split and cabins clean.

We are located in the most concentrated lake region in the world next to Finland. From playing on the lakes in our area fishing and boating, guests enjoy numerous hiking trails through the woods for both skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. Downtown offers unique shopping and plenty of restaurants. We Are 5 Miles South of Minocqua, 3 Hrs from Madison.

This place has a wonderfully authentic Up North feeling about it. We've rented a cabin during the summer three times, and there's no doubt we'll be back. Helpful owners, clean and comfortable cabins, close to Minocqua but just far enough away to feel "secluded". Lots of lake toys for use: paddle boats, canoes, etc. Bald eagles, loons and plenty of other wildlife on the lake. Totally picturesque.

Great Place

I have vacationed at Black's Cliff every summer of my life for the last 47 years. It is a great place. The beds are comfortable, the cabins are clean and well maintained, the fireplaces are warm, and there is plenty of wood for the taking. A nice beach front, plenty of rowboats, a great playground, and plenty of fire pits everywhere. Close to the Bearskin Trail for biking and hiking. Also nearby is golfing, and shopping, I don't know what else one could ask for in a Vacation Cabin. Winter at the Cliff is also a thing of beauty. Plenty of trails for snowmobiling, and ice on the lake for skating. Cross Country skiing areas are close by, too.

It really is a great place. The Blacks are a great family and they will make you feel right at home in THEIR home!!

A Great Place to Enjoy the Northwoods !

We, too, had a wonderful time at Black's Cliff. The grandkids had a ball playing in the autumn leaves, fishing on the pretty little lake, and hanging out on back porch with its swinging bed....even in late October! Did some biking on the Bearskin Trail, lots of hiking with the dogs, and we enjoyed the warmth of hotdogs and s'mores (of course!) over an outdoor campfire. Some nights we just made pizzas, played games, and told stories around our cozy cabin's stone fireplace. Made a dash for the swinging bed every morning, tho, to cuddle with a little one and watch the sun come up! There was a "just right" feel to our entire stay at Black's Cliff. Nothing too fancy...the campers among us loved the woodsiness of the place. The owners made us feel right at home, as they were very helpful and available. Hope we're able to enjoy more visits in the years to come!

Northwoods Getaway - Rustic charm with real cabins

Truley fun for family or couples retreat. Lake recreation, fishing for novice or serious - small mouth, crappie, northern pike and muskie. Bike or hike the Bearskin trail, old railway turn trail. Close enough to town for restaurants. Three generations, close to 50 years of visits I can still say I'd go tomorrow.

We have spent a week every summer for the last 18 years at Black's Cliff. The cabins are clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is friendly and fun. If you are lucky enough to book a cabin at Black's Cliff, you will not be disappointed. You will find that the cabin is well-stocked for cooking, if you choose to cook on vacation. The cabin also has comfortable furnishings and beds. The beach at the resort is wonderful for swimming, boating and sun-bathing. There is a playground for children. Each cabin has a fire ring and outdoor furniture. One highlight for most of the cabins is the great screened porch with a swinging bed.

The Hazelhurst and Minocqua area offers many fun summer activities like mini-golf, go carting, movies, shows, shopping and great restaurants. The northwoods is a great place to relax and recharge!
