PRIVATE COUNTRY LOG HOME WITH SPECTACULAR VIEWS AND POND ON 11 ACRES

Stowe House Rental Photos and Description

Log Home, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths with Mountain Views

Vermont is all about mountains, outdoor life and peaceful surroundings. Once you arrive you will find it difficult to leave this one-of-a-kind four bedroom log home in paradise. It has all the ambiance you could wish for....warm and charming with spectacular views and large private spring-fed swimming pond with dock and raft for diving or sunbathing.

This very comfortable, family and pet-friendly home has a large open floor plan with cathedral ceilings in both living room and dining room, massive two-sided stone fireplace, unique 12-person custom pine table in dining area, and spacious loft with additional TV/DVD for the kids. Enjoy mountain views from every room in the house including large picture windows in living, dining and master bedroom. This house comfortably sleeps a maximum of 8 people in four bedrooms; portable beds are available for two additional people at an additional cost of $50 per person per night.

During the summer find yourself relaxing in our adirondack chairs on the expansive lawn or large farmers porch overlooking the large serene spring-fed swimming pond, surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, spectacular mountain views and sunsets. Gaze into the sky and you will see soaring gliders from nearby Stowe airport, hot air balloons or migrating Canadian geese. In winter, step outside with your snowshoes or cross-country skis onto local trails or enjoy watching your children playing or sledding in the snow. Or you can also enjoy some of the best skiing in the East just 20 minutes away at the Mt. Mansfield ski resort, 45 minutes to Jay Peak and 55 minutes to Sugarbush.

Drive into Stowe Village and indulge yourself in shopping, fine dining and world-class spa facilities. Or drive up the Mountain Road to visit Mt. Mansfield and the new $400 million resort at Spruce Speak at Stowe and experience the new hotel, spa, restaurants and shops, base lodge, 18-hole golf course, and much more. Also visit the newest exciting addition to the community, the recently opened Performing Arts Center at Spruce Peak . In the summer, enjoy many local activities such as the Hot Air Balloon Festival in July, summer concerts, antique car shows and farmer's market.

We know that your stay here will be fun, relaxing and memorable for your entire family and friends.

And if you would like to own a piece of this paradise, check out our 2-acre lot for sale located adjacent to our log home (see photo). Perc tested for 4 bedrooms with frontage on dead-end town road. For 5 years, we searched for land in the area to build our vacation getaway. Now after 24 years we are still amazed at the breath-taking views and serenity each time we arrive.

My husband Peter and I both grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts. He has always had roots in Vermont, since he and most of his family were born in the Stowe area. In fact his father was on the original crew that built and operated the first ski trails and lifts at Mt. Mansfield. Peter spent many summers and winters in Vermont as a child and eventually became a professional free-style skier in the 70's. Because he loved Vermont so much and some of his family still lived there, he built our wonderful log home on this beautiful property with breath-taking views.

I also had moved to Warren, Vermont in the late 70's where I owned a home with a beautiful horse farm for 15 years. Coincidentally, after many years Peter and I re-met in Stowe during a weekend visit. I later relocated to Massachusetts, and we eventually married with a lovely outdoor wedding at our Vermont home.

Needless to say, Vermont still has a special meaning to the both of us, and we are always reminded of how romantic the area is and how we fell in love everytime we are there!

This is a beautiful home - everything is clean, new and convenient. You can feel the love that went into decorating and building this home. It's an excellent rental property and the owners are great to work with.

Further, there is room to sleep more than 8 - there is an extra living area upstairs and extra fold-out beds.

the only think I knocked a star off for, was that it's a little bit of a drive from the mountain and Stowe (takes about 30 minutes to get to the mountain - about 15 minutes to get into main part of town).

But we would definitely rent again.

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY

  • 5 of 5
What a perfect place to stay for vacation in the winter! Half way between Stowe & Smuggs makes it great for skiing, while the frozen pond on 11 acres makes it fun for the rest of us! The house and view are gorgeous. If you are on the fence about this house, just do it. You won't regret it.

A WONDER EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5
My family and I recently stayed in this beautiful and well appointed home and it easily accommodated 9 adults. At first I was a bit apprehensive about staying in Morrisville rather than on the mountain road in Stowe but that quickly disappeared when we arrived to see this idyllic setting away from what can be the hustle-bustle of Stowe. The house is well laid out with plenty of space – a living room, sitting area upstairs and wonderful rockers on the porch with a wonderful view of the mountains means no one is ever cramped for room. The best part of the house however, is the open area of kitchen/dinning room where we spent a good deal of time for breakfast, dinner and a good part of a rainy day. The beautiful rough-hewn table and benches had plenty of space for our group and supported our discussions, debates and future plans for next year stay!

LOVELY SETTING, SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
This was a great place to spend the Christmas Holiday, everything we needed was at the house, we had plenty of room to spend out and lots of nice trails right out the door for xc skiing and hiking. The location was perfect with fabulous views, an easy commute to stores, restaurants and the mountains. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

LOVELY CABIN IN A BEAUTIFUL SETTING!

  • 5 of 5
Outstanding cabin home in a beautiful setting! Our family made a summer vacation to New England and Vermont from Texas! This is where I celebrated my 50th birthday and will certainly have fond memories of playing games with the family, sitting in the backyard viewing the scenery, fly fishing, and just relaxing. Sandy was an absolute delight to work with and would definately look to make a return trip in the future!

REALLY GREAT !

  • 5 of 5
Shared a perfect weekend getaway with friends. The home a beautiful log cabin with plenty of space and the outside scenery is spectacular. We lucked out with a weekend of warmth and lots of sunshine. Our view of the fall foliage from the front porch was amazing and we would definitely want to come back.
Thanks again.
