Beautiful Condo Near Mamitas Beach. Modern Building A Few Steps from 5th Ave. This is one of Playa's most modern buildings. Doca has been designed to be practical and exclusive with easy access to bars and restaurants on 5th Ave. Amenities include underground parking (remote controlled), elevator, rooftop pool, spa, and bar area. The building is home to only 9 condos, making it a super exclusive, elegant place to run away to. If your interests include the nearby restaurants, nightlife and nearby trendy beach clubs - this is your place!

This Penthouse suite has a hot tub on its private deck and solarium with amazing views. You can also enjoy Doca's rooftop pool view with an amazing view of the ocean.

DOCA has an elevator that is very convenient from the garage to your condo - perfect for heavy luggage and groceries! Other condos use stairs only!

We spared no expense in decorating our condo. From marble floors, top quality mattresses, light down comforters, regular and down-filled pillows to Sony Bravia HDTVs, you'll find all of the comfort and luxury you need right here in unit 206. We've furnished the condo keeping up with today's technology, including free Wi-Fi Internet, Amazing Bose Sound Dock for iPods and iPhones (has input for other non-Apple devices), DVD player with Karaoke capabilities, alarm clock with iPod charging dock and speakers in Master bedroom.

The living room features an air conditioner, an L-shaped sofa, very comfortable for viewing the 42' Flat Panel Sony® Bravia LCD HDTV equipped with Sky® Satellite Television (English, Spanish and other international channels). You'll find the Bose® Sound dock and the DVD/Karaoke player as well.

The dining room has seating for 6, with additional seating for 2 at the kitchen counter just to the side. The fully equipped kitchen has stainless-steel appliances for your enjoyment as well as granite counter-tops. A reverse-osmosis water filtration offers delicious drinking water via the sink dispenser.

With two beautifully furnished bedrooms, there is enough room for 4 people to sleep very comfortably a-top luxurious mattresses and down comforters. Each room has it's own air conditioner. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, a 32' Flat Panel Sony® Bravia LCD HDTV equipped with Sky® Satellite Television and a modern, private marble bathroom. The 'green' room has a queen-sized bed with a private bathroom.

I love Playa del Carmen for it's obvious beauty and proximity to the Mayan Coral Reef. Tropical beaches, ancient ruins, abundant marine and wildlife abound. The Great Mayan Reef is the largest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere. Mexicans refer to the Riviera as 'Riviera Maya' while foreigners call it the 'Mayan Riviera' or 'Maya Riviera'. There is SO much to do here!! Great place to get away from it all. Visit the Mayan ruins of Tulum, just 45 minutes away. Unique 'eco-archeological' theme parks, Xcaret & Xel-Ha. Xplor is an adventure park with 13 zip-lines, amphibious vehicles, raft rides under stalactites and more. The fabulous restaurants on 5th Avenue. The people-watching from a street side table can delight you for hours! Walk almost everywhere. From one end of 5th Ave to the other....

Perfect for our needs

It was an ideal location, 2 blocks from the beautiful beach, 1 block away from 5th Avenue, apartment was as expected good quality - beds were amazing and the roof top terrace was ace for the end of the day. I will be going back and staying next year for sure!!! My girls loved it and well worth it!

Less than Expected

We’ve stayed in Playa many times and are very familiar with the town. Although the website description of DOCA 302 is generally accurate, we experienced several unexpected conditions. The DOCA building is not “just one block from the beach” but rather five blocks. Depending on one’s route, the walk can be quite pleasant. There are no “amazing views” from the deck. The only thing seen is the ugly roof of a building immediately across the street with propane and hot water tanks. Although a photo of the living room includes a partial view of this roof, reality does not become apparent until you are sitting on the balcony. Mostly, one sees urban sprawl. Do not expect an “amazing view of the ocean”. The website’s photo of a white tower and the sea behind is misleading. These are much further away than indicated. We were looking forward to a peaceful vacation; instead, we experienced so much noise that we stayed away from the condo as much as possible. At night, we slept with earplugs and eye masks. There’s a lot of traffic on nearby streets. If you don’t mind the irritating noise of motorcycles, tour buses, etc., it will not be a problem. Somewhere, outdoor sports classes start at 8:00 A.M. Imagine 30 or 40 balls hitting the court at once! Night games can last till midnight with enthusiastic fans playing drums to support their teams. Loud, Zumba classes destroy any sense of tranquility. We couldn't sit on the balcony and enjoy a glass of wine. The Jacuzzi on the upper deck could not be used for the same reasons. Nearby lighting shines into the bedroom which stays on all night. A two-inch gap between each blackout blind seems like a flashlight in one’s face, an irritation that reduces the quality of sleep. There are no screen doors. The glass patio doors could not be left open at night since cockroaches crawl in. Security is an issue. Two condos, one floor below, were robbed during the day. Daytime security was subsequently added by building management. Both roof pools are lovely and clean. There is absolutely no shade, which becomes very uncomfortable in sunny Mexico. This location would be suitable for some; however, our vacation expectations are perhaps different. We did not expect to be annoyed by noise or the view in a "first class" destination. The Owner tried to relocate us to a quieter property; but at the last minute, was unable to do so. Ana, the condo manager was very kind and helpful as was her associate Rodolfo.

It is impossible to know what your expectations were prior to arrival. It is unfortunate that you were not able to enjoy this beautiful condo as many others have.

As you know, from the moment you arrived, we worked very hard to make you happy, and even offer you other options. All other reviews are EXCELLENT. They speak for themselves.

With all due respect, we were very surprised by the attitude and constant negativity from this guest, regardless of our efforts. It's unfortunate that when someone radiates such negativity, everything seems to go wrong around them. Or perhaps it's just the perception someone has depending from what "lens" you look at life through.

The solarium does have an ocean view, and the intermittent zumba classes have been a hit with other guests as the music offers a festive environment (we are in playa after all) for happy hour drinks on the patio.

Entrance to the building has been limited to programmed key access cards available only to owners and their guests.

Also, a 24 hour security officer has been put in place.

There was in fact a theft that was deemed to be an "inside job" by someone who had done work in the condos. These two adjoining condos owned by the same person - they robbed the security safes. This is the only theft at Doca. Immediately the building owners and management took security measures.

Excellent price, location and amenities

We rented this unit with another couple and had a very pleasant stay, it is just off the main street and a few minutes walk to most anywhere that you could want to go to, even the end of the strip is about a 20 minute walk. The interior is beautiful and very contemporary. The unit has a washer and dryer so this makes a bonus over a hotel room stay and you can just wash your own clothes. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of utinsils, plates and glasses. The Megamart is about 4 or 5 blocks away and a great place to get some groceries to stock up, and of course the town is abundant with the best food in the world.

Playa del Carmen Doca 302 Condo

Doca 302 is a beautiful condo. Only a few years old, it is contemporary and nicely furnished. It is also spacious. One of the best features is a roof top lap pool about 120 feet long plus a small regular pool. There are ocean views from the roof top. The condo is very conveniently located. The only downside is that the views from the condo itself are simply of city buildings and a big athletic complex just to the west.

Doca #302 pleasant stay

This is a beautiful condo. Very contemporary and comfortable. It is in an excellent location but does not have a nice view. The lap pool on the roof is fantastic (there is also a small, shallow regular pool). The views from the roof to the water are pleasant. The condo is spacious and nicely furnished. It helps that is on the third floor, up away a bit from the street. There was very little noise. There is an elevator. The staff in the building were all helpful. It is 1/2 block from 5th avenue where all the action is in Playa.

Excellent Playa Vacation

I am here now, and cannot wait until I get home to tell you about this lovely rental condo. I have to tell you now. First of all, your rental value here is superb, and you are getting true bang for your buck here. Well appointed, and comfortable.
We've vacationed here in the Riviera Maya every year at least once, if not twice, for years. Normally at an all-inclusive, but decided to rent for a month thi s time. While amenities here are different from what we usually get at one of the hotels, living closer to the residents here was so much fun! We really got a sense of being in the community, while still being close enough to the "touristy" stuff.

This condo is close to EVERYTHING! Most of what we do is in walking distance, and for anything farther, there are taxis EVERYWHERE! (Negotitate your price first). There are SO MANY good restaurants around here, in varying price ranges. We are foodies, so we look for nice places to eat. You are in the center of all the restaurants, and also all the bars/clubs. Night life here is what you make it! It's as little or as much as you want.

We've been to Mexico enough years to know what's going on. This place is perfect for those of you who don't want your run-of-the-mill tourist vacation. YOU MUST RENT THIS PLACE!
Okay... one caveat ,but not that bad.... if you are a beach person, the condo is on Calle 32. 32 does not go thru to the beach. Rather than drag the beach chairs & umbrellas with you from the condo, here's what you do.. go down 32nd to Av.1, turn left on 28th, and head to the beach, where you have your choice of either Mamitas or Kool Beach. 70 pesos gets you a chair, umbrella, and use of the facilities. OR... plant yourself at the rooftop pool at the condo! It's 30 seconds up the elevator!

Que mas? (What else?) English TV (with Spanish subtitles) and Bose iPod dock for music, DVD player, and much more.

I could write you a travelog, but bottom line, this is a GREAT place to stay.

Oh yeah... shopping! Go to Mega, not Walmart. You'd be AMAZED at the difference!
