Experience all the region has to offer with the amenities of home at your finger tips. Our quaint home provides 2 bedrooms and a loft, 1 bath, kitchen with refrigerator, stove, and microwave, also included is a woodstove, laundry facilities, DVD player and picnic table on large private deck with grill. Come escape the hustle and bustle to relax lake side!

The best of both worlds: This serene cove of Caywood is located on a private driveway about a mile from the main road nestled between a series of vineyards. Tranquility and immersion in an environment away from the rigors of suburban living are achieved instantly at the time of arrival. My personal recommendation to all who visit the area is to embrace the region and venture into the experiences around you. There are few lakes in this country that offer the magnificent size and beauty of Seneca Lake, make sure that you visit affords you some time on the water.
About Melissa & Peter

I have spent every summer of my life on Seneca Lake swimming, skiing, diving, visiting wineries, visiting museums, and enjoying the many attractions in the area. A little over 10 years ago, I purchased this cottage and even lived there for a few years. It is my hope that those who come to visit my cottage, will find the same enjoyment that I have in experiencing one of the most amazing water bodies in the United States.

Entertainment: The area provides a little something for everyone to experience, beyond fishing, boating and swimming. Other attractions include the areas gorges located in Watkins Glen State Park and Taughnnock Falls State Park, the Ithaca Farmers Market, Wagner’s Winery Pub Night (Dancing on the Deck), Pickin’ in the Pasture Bluegrass Concert, The Hanger Theater, The Glen Theater, Watkins Glen International Race Track, the Corning Glass Museum, The Rockwell Museum of Western Art, Cornell University’s Johnson Museum of Art, The Museum of the Earth, The Cayuga Nature Center and the Science Center. Lodi State Park also, offers a boat ramp and park for the kids to play assessable by boat as well as car, just a few miles away.

What makes this cottage unique

Unlike most cottages on Seneca Lake our cottage offers staircase access to the water as well as drive down access. Our cottage is located about 60 feet above the beach giving spectacular views of the lake at sunset. The beach are offers shared access (with owner only) to a large dock that extends approximately 70 feet into the water to sunbath, swim from, or to tie up your boat for the day.

Quiet Seneca Lake Retreat in the Finger Lakes

My husband and I just spent a long weekend at this property. We loved the house! It had everything we needed in the house for cooking - plenty of pots and pans, plates, silverware, coffee maker, stove, grill, microwave, etc.

The location was perfect for discovering the wineries. It's about 1/2 way up on the eastern side, so it was easy to get to all of the wineries around Seneca Lake. You are also within 30 minutes or less of Watkins Glenn, Geneva and Ithaca.

The property is quite a ways back off the main road. As you enter the property, you drive through the Silver Thread Vineyard. There is a really pretty little waterfall just a few houses down. The street is very quiet and secluded. You get beautiful views of the sunset on the lake from the deck and beach area.

The house was also pet friendly, so we were able to bring our dog.

We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back!
