Overview

Colorado Springs House Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedroom, 2 Full Bathrooms (Sleeps 10+) Great Outdoor Space for Entertaining

Take a trip back in time when you stay in our beautifully restored 1890's Victorian era home with lovely mountain views. It has been completely restored with all the modern-day amenities but retains all of the old-world charm to include high ceilings, original woodwork, crown molding, ornate hand-carved fireplace mantle, stained glass and bay windows, french doors and beautiful art-deco light fixtures.

We have tastefully furnished the house and included everything that anyone could need to feel right at home. The beautiful new kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with spices, basic food items, and condiments. Gorgeous, original hard-wood floors throughout the house make for a very clean environment. The property includes a detached, oversized two-car garage and a wonderful yard and patio area with a BBQ grill ready for your use.

This is a unique home in the core of the city sitting on 2/3's of an acre, allowing for lots of privacy. None of our living space is in the basement....all rooms are bright and cheerful. We have central air conditioning and also have dual hot-water tanks to provide ample hot water for large groups.

For your peace of mind, locks are re-keyed prior to new arrivals.

We are centrally located within two miles of our vibrant downtown area. We are one mile north of Colorado College, and only four blocks north of Penrose Hospital. You will find it very easy to reach all of the most popular attractions, to include: Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, The North Pole, Cave of the Winds, Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City, Olympic Training Center, Air Force Academy, Seven Falls, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and more - all within about 15 minutes of the house. The Royal Gorge, Cripple Creek and Denver are within one hour.

For hikers, runners and bicyclists, the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail is just 6 blocks west of our house.

We call our home The 3 R's. REST after a day of sight seeing by curling up with a good book or watching some of the best television programming available. RELAX on the front porch or the back patio with family and friends; and REJUVENATE your body and spirits, as stress becomes a distant memory. All beds have top-of-the line Sealy Posturepedic firm/plush mattresses for everyone's comfort level. No attention to detail has been missed. Please call us or drop us an email so we can begin helping you plan a memorable visit. We will do everything possible to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.

About Sheryl Courter

My husband and I moved from Seattle/Wichita in 2004, because the city offered everything we both wanted as we started our new lives together. We love Colorado Springs and are very excited about sharing our city and its surrounding area. There is so much to do and see here. A simple drive in the mountains never fails to rejuvenate our spirits. We enjoy hiking and would love to share our favorite spots.

Sheryl Courter purchased this house in 2008

Why Sheryl Courter chose Colorado Springs

We chose Colorado for it's natural beauty, great weather, and multitude of outdoor activities. From our home, you will be in the center of everything. Enjoy visiting our extraordinary attractions as well as hiking, bicycling, fishing, and exploring local history. You will also have quick and easy access to I-25, and you can be in Denver in no more than an hour.

What makes this house unique

Our home is located on the fringe of our city's most desirable Old North End neighborhood with its elaborate Victorian homes most of which were built between 1890 and 1901 with monies from the Cripple Creek gold strike. If you enjoy walking, you will love partaking in the many self-guided walking tours of the area. Visit our downtown also and enjoy your choice of outside cafes, many fine dining establishments, museums, parks, charming boutiques, nightclubs, the Penrose Library, the Fine Art Center, and the Pikes Peak Center.

EXCELLENT!!!!

It was even better than we expected. Absolutely everything you might need was there. Location was very near to everything we wanted to do. Could not have asked for better accommodations. Much better than a hotel!

Previous reviews sum it up!

  • 5 of 5

The previous reviews describe the house well. Read them...they're all accurate!

We stayed for three weeks after the birth of our third Colorado grandchild. Our son, his wife and their three children joined us. We didn't feel at all crowded and the house was easy to clean after having children eat/play in it. The kids had a great time playing in the snow in the fenced yard plus there were two playgrounds within walking distance.

We cooked at least twice a day and had everything we needed...we made good use of the abundance of dishes, pots and pans, and the grill. Sheryl provided so many extras that we usually have to run out to buy when we rent.

The house looks small from the outside, but is quite roomy inside. We had some cold weather, but the home was well heated. We appreciated the notebook with information about the home and the area, but it was also nice to have the owners close by. Sad to leave!

Owner's Response: Thank you Jan for sharing your experience with other prospective guests. It is nice to know how comfortable the house can be for people who need to stay for an extended period. I am always happy to provide a place where families can spend momentous occasions, whether it be graduations, weddings, anniversaries, or in your case the birth of a new member of the family (a first by the way! ). I'm so glad you all enjoyed your time together. ~~Sheryl

A fabulous vacation in a beautiful house. Sheryl has thought of every detail for this place to make your stay truly unforgettable. Never have we stayed at a hotel where they attended to details like she has done here. Highly recommend this place for your next getaway. Plenty of room for an extended family gathering. Nice large yard for kids, great front porch for just sitting and relaxing. If ever in CO again, definitely will be the place to stay.

A walk down memory lane

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six, 4 adults and 2 kids, traveled to Colorado Springs for a family reunion and vacation. Our mother was born and raised in Colorado Springs and this house was perfect for us. Sheryl went above and beyond to supply extra patio chairs and a cooler for our reunion bbq to make it a memorable event for everyone. The house has a nicely stocked kitchen, a great front porch and huge yard, a large dining room table for everyone to sit around, and the favorite with our family, air conditioning. All 4 bedrooms have very comfortable beds, with 3 big bedrooms upstairs and a ‘Grannie’ bedroom downstairs. The house is centrally located to downtown Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Colorado College, the Air Force Academy and many other attractions. Our family will be returning to this Victorian jewel again!

Perfect accommodations for motorcyclists.

  • 5 of 5

This property is beautifully decorated and acessorized. Sheryl couldn't have been more hospitable and willing to ensure we had everything our party of seven needed. The location was great, having the garage kept all the bikes, trailers, and equipment secure which made for ease of mind. Truly a home away from home that I would highly recommend it to anyone.

An adorable gem in Colorado Springs

  • 5 of 5

What an incredibly beautiful gem of a home in Colorado Springs. The home is lovingly cared for by its owners and immaculately maintained. The pictures on the website accurately show the home's beauty. We loved the views of Pike's Peak from several locations in the home. We so enjoyed the front porch where we sat and read, especially in the evenings....and the area off the laundry room with the table, umbrella and chairs for our morning time of breakfast and reading. We loved having the grill to cook two of our meals and the kitchen is so roomy with the convenience of the eat in kitchen table. We enjoyed two meals (6 adults) at the large dining room table. The internet was very reliable as well as the TV connection. The two hot water heaters were a treat with 6 adults.

We loved the attractions and restaurants as well: Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Olympic Training Center, World Figure Skating Museum and Hall of Fame, Florissant Fossil Beds (1 mile hike), Memorial Park for July 4th Philharmonic Concert and Fireworks, Monument Park to see our daughter and son-in-law complete the "Half on the Fourth" - half-marathon! Great parks!!

Expanded our eating cuisines to include Caspian Café Mediterranean (excellent - ate there two times), Uchenna (wonderful Ethiopian food), Phantom Canyon Brewing Company (after viewing the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Parade), Poor Richards Restaurant for lunch and several others.

I would highly recommend this home to anyone visiting Colorado Springs - excellent care and attention to our needs by the owners. We would certainly return again....and the price was just right!

Thank you, Sheryl for all you did to make us so welcome and cared for!
