I'm semi-retired, back home in Bermuda after many years living abroad and travelling widely. Freshwinds was built by my father. The apt. was added by my husband and I so that we could spend more time vacationing with our family!
My husband and I enjoy an 'armchair' business running cruises aboard our catamaran 'Ana Luna'. I'll take you snorkeling at our favorite spot!
Debbie purchased this apartment in 1963
We wanted to vacation Here!
Self contained, quiet, convenient, reasonable.
We had a fantastic family holiday in Bermuda staying at Freshwinds. Debbie and Nathan were brilliant hosts and helped us sort out transfers to the house with Cal. The house was clean, well furnished and stocked with basic essentails (washing up liquid, soap, toilet rolls etc..) Cal even did a basic shop for us to get us through the first night as our flight was delayed. The house is well positioned for exploring the whole island...the only down side is that the local bus( route 4) finishes to Spanish point at 6pm but you can hire scooters or use taxis. We loved exploring the Lighthouse, Horseshoe Bay beach, the Railway walking trail but especially going out on Ana Luna Nathan's catamaran...fantastic!! The bus stop is 2 minutes walk away and a local convenience store only 10 minutes. All in all.... a great holiday, on a fantastic island in a lovely house.
A spacious, clean and lovely guest house 10 minutes away from Hamilton. The best description for this guest house would be, a home away from home. The house was supplied with essentials such as bath towels, beach towels, hand soap, bar soap, dishwashing soap, coffee maker, microwave, pots, pans, cups and utensils. The owners Nathan & Debbie were great, they were very helpful and hospitable. They referred us to Cal, who runs a taxi service on the island and she was absolutely amazing!!! If you are into nature, this place is for you.
We were a family of four (2 adults and twin 2 year old boys). Because of the boys our needs were not as straight-foward as many guests. Nathan and Debbie (our hosts)were excellent before and during our stay in answering our queries and doing what they could to make our arrival and stay as enjoyable as possible. We found Freshwinds perfect for our needs - homely and peaceful (well until our boys got there), with all the amenities you could wish for. It was very close to a child friendly beach, and had a bus stop for travel into Hamilton within 30 seconds walk. Bermuda is a wonderful, friendly island - but, rather expensive. Although travelling 7 hours from the UK with toddlers was possibly not our smartest move, they had a whale of a time. I would highly recommend Freshwinds as a place to stay in Bermuda...as a home from home.
Our family of five had a great stay at Freshwinds Apartments. Excellent location! Bus stop is steps from the door. Groceries an easy 5 minute walk. Beach and parks are a 5 minute walk as well. Admiralty Park is a perfect place for the kids to snorkel, swim, play in the sand and discover the colonial tunnels. The layout of the apartment is spacious, pics of the property are accurate. Taxi driver they recommended lives close by and goes above and beyond!
I loved staying here! I would highly recommend it. The apartment was huge and had a friendly, comfortable feel. The listed description was accurate and the photos reflect the appearance. The property was clean and well maintained and has a sweet private garden attached for a nice bbq dinner with friends! The property was safe and private in a quiet neighborhood. The bus service was good and I would recommend it for the great location. The gorgeous beaches, two public parks and amazing views off North Shore are all within walking distance. Groceries are easy to get at several nearby stores. The parks are great for the kids to play or bring a couple's picnic. Hamilton is easy to access by bus, motorbike rental or taxi. What really made my visit memorable was that the owner was helpful and made themselves readily available for answering questions. They were so kind and cared how my stay was going, doing their utmost to provide a great place to stay in Bermuda and the best experience they could.
We loved our stay at Freshwinds this February. The accommodations were spacious, clean and comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed. We loved sitting outside in the pretty garden and popping out to see if there were any herbs, ripe paw paw or bananas in the veggie patch, which the owners graciously invited us to use. The bus stop is right on the corner and a very short ride to Hamilton. Admiralty park with lovely cove, beach and caves was a treasure and only a two minute walk away. Looking forward to coming back again next next year!
Located a short walk from two Parks w/tennis courts and secluded cove and small beaches, Easy walk to grocery, bus stop across street, free catamaran cruise for two w/seven night stay, convenient to Hamilton and nearby beaches
