Welcome to Moon Inn Kona! Think 'Home Away From Home.' Our family has a long tradition of hospitality which we would like to extend to you as you consider visiting the Big Island of Hawaii.
After a 5-6 hour flight to Hawaii, renting your car, stopping by the grocery store, and unpacking, you will be ready for a relaxing rest on your private lanai with 180 degree view of Keauhou Bay and the Pacific. The sunsets are outstanding!!
The modern bedroom suite with screened in lanai, clean decor and adjacent office space is bright and beautiful. Ocean and mountain breezes keep the bedroom cool and comfortable.
Walk out your door to the end of your drive, take a left to Keauhou Bay and boats or take a right to Keauhou Shopping Center where you will find lovely shops, a movie theater, Longs Drugs, KTA Grocery and several restaurants. We are also adjacent to the Kona Country Club if you like golf. If you don't feel like going anywhere, the Kona Resort pool is clean and inviting.
If you invite overnight guests or if you have children, our upstairs hide-a-bed can accomodate two comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped and our dining table seats 4.
You are 6 miles to downtown Kona by car or you can take the Wiki-Wiki bus from Keauhou Shopping center. It is a 5-10 minute drive to popular Magic Sands or Childrens Beach for snorkelling and beach side fun.
Of course, if you get homesick, Kona also has a Costco, Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, and Starbucks.

Cliff and I enjoy sharing our home with others from all over the world. In Seattle our home is called Moon Inn because we have so many people here all the time. Right now we have students from Korea and China.
Cliff is a contractor and I enjoy taking my grandkids on an Adventure with Gramma every summer. Cliff just waves good-bye.
We love hospitality because we meet so many interesting people. We want your stay at Moon Inn Kona to be relaxed and enjoyable.
Thanks for considering Moon Inn Kona for your next vacation.
The Owner purchased this townhome in 2006
We are actively involved with the Unviersity of the Nations Kona, a Christian missions training university with YWAM. It is located on Kuakini Hwy just above Coconut Grove in Kailua-Kona. We volunteer at the UofNKona at least two or three times a year so we wanted a home base in Kona. Cliff especially loves the ocean view and trips to the beach.
Being from Seattle we love the sunshine and warm weather. It is a place to get away from our house full of people. Moon Inn Kona is our quiet haven away from all the hustle and bustle of city life. We feel rejuvenated and rested in our island getaway and hope you do, too.
As much as we would love to hide this one and keep it to ourselves, we were blessed with finding it so we will share. The upper lanai itself was worth the stay, yes, 2 lanai's for this upper class, quiet condo. Ocean view, you can hear the paddlers in the distance from the local canoe club chanting as they went on their way. Gorgeous sunset, if you do chose to stay home. Electric grill, lots of room upstairs and down. Home away from home with all the amenities needed. We will be back.
This Condo was perfect for our family vacation. Clean, spacious, all the supplies you need included. It was close to the shops and beach and we loved the quiet pool just a few steps away. My favorite was the spacious deck to look out and enjoy the ocean view.
We stayed here just before Christmas. The townhome is two stories with the bedroom on the lower floor and each level has a lanai with a stunning view. This place was a "hit" on so many levels including a very comfortable bed and convertible bed, great location, very clean and quiet, and a nice shower (no tub). It was nice to stay in a place where everything worked and had little extras like an electric grill on the lanai, an electric awning to shade the large deck, a lovely pool, and a drying rack on the lanai for our bathing suits. The owner was a treat to deal with and when we go back we will try to stay here again. The two floors are open to each other so if privacy or noise is an issue between roommates then this might be a drawback but for the two of us it was perfect.
We so enjoyed our week-long stay at the lovely Moon Inn Keauhou! Our mornings and evenings were mostly spent on the balcony off the living room, where palm fronds brush the deck, little green lizards lazily watch you, and warm tropical breezes stir the air. Sleep came easy as the beds are really comfortable (both the bedroom bed and the sofa bed). Sometimes we'd go for a swim in the pool before or after heading out. It was the ideal way to start and end each day of activity -- snorkeling, swimming, shopping, dining. We explored the amazing underwater world with dolphins and manta rays, visited with seahorses at the sanctuary, and took a day trip to the volcano (amazing!). A magical vacation and Moon Inn was our happy home! Thank you!
The condo was a great springboard to all of the activities that we enjoyed in the Kona Coast area...tourist stops, snorkeling, walking, swimming, yoga, relaxing and it is very handy to shopping and farmer's markets. The condo was comfortable and well equipped. A BBQ and chaise lounge would have been handy. The condo is older but has been well maintained. The gardens surrounding the complex are beautiful and the swimming pool was great. The owner was very accommodating. Sunsets were glorious when the vog cleared and good when voggy. We would return to Keauhou Resort.
Great views, and a fantastic setting - lovely furniture and lots of great items in the kitchen.
Very helpful property manager and helpful owners before we rented who shared the details of the location and suggestions that were all very honest and helpful.
We would return!
